No ecchi and harems at all - I dislike them as well. Some of the Miyazaki movies may do, especially Kaguya-hime no Monogatari and Tonari no Totoro.

Also, many SoL shows. Barakamon is just perfect.

Probably also Corpse Party.

Pokemon and Digimon are implicit.

Yep, nothing like good old Corpse Party to traumatize your kids.

I don't plan on having kids, but I have a niece, so I will be talking about showing anime to her.

Ghibli movies as a start. She actually watched one or two already, some years ago, but I can't recall which two and I suppose she doesn't even remember them.
The worst thing is that there is not much anime with voice over, as we're Polish and it will take her some years unlit she can keep up with reading subtitles.
I might also show her Shaman King, Dragon Ball and Pokemon.
And well... that's actually it. I suppose there are more anime with polish dubbing/voice-over (at least I hope so) but I would have to research that.

I will make my kids watch fate/zero and UBW so they don't get any stupid ideas like thinking being a hero is cool.

Start off with some average starters like Toradora, My Bride is a Mermaid, Tokyo Ravens,Fairy Tail, Bleach, etc. Then get advanced with the likes of Samurai Champloo ,Attack on Titan and DeathNote. Then when the time is right..... the alumni classics of CowBoy BeBop, Clannad : Afterstory, and Code Geass.

If you are talking about "A Shadow Game" and "Duel Monsters", then rather not. Well, it depends how old those kids are, if above 9-10 years, then yeah.
I think, for kids, you can never go wrong with Digimon (any season), Doraemon, Hamtaro, Pokemon, DoReMi, Astro Boy, Arrietty or anything from Miyazaki, Ronja, Ganbare Kickers, Captain Tsubasa, Damashitaa PowerPuff Girls Z, maybe Dragon Ball (not talking about DBZ), Nadia: Secret of Blue Water, Marvel Disk Wars, Märchen Awakens Romance, Kaiketsu Zorro, Pretty Cure, maybe Power Stone, Sonic X, maybe Dr. Slump, Beyblade, typical Shounen Anime like Toriko, One Piece, etc (if they are a little older), Idaten Jump, Gegege no Kitaro, Sailor Moon, Wedding Peach, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, etc etc etc. It depends how old those kids are. But there are plenty of alternatives.
Typical Shounen like One Piece and Toriko as well as typical Shoujo like Sailor Moon or Wedding Peach i would hold back until those kids reach the two digits. I think by then they can understand and appreciate Anime better with their maturity.
But i laugh at anyone who says that Meitantei Conan is for Kids.
