Rewinding back to the first episode Tatsuya tells Erika and Mizuki that they were born on different months yet they are in the same year. 0.0 Maybe this was just a cover up in order to hide their identities but I'm going with that they aren't blood related.

I have not read the LN or manga so don't hate and murder me while painfully wait for the next season.

I haven't read the LN too, but you can open baka-tsuki and read episode you want to clarify. In the LN he said "I have often been asked that but we are not twins. I was born in April while she was born in March. If I were born one month earlier or she were born one month later, then we wouldn't be in the same school year" and there is translators note to that "School Years: Tatsuya is essentially eleven months older than Miyuki. With the exception of universities, all public school years in Japan are trimester-based and start in April and end in March the following year."

Do the people who ship Tatsuya and Mayumi not realize that they are cousin? I mean that is just as incestuous as Tatsuya and Miyuki relationship. Then when they see this they would say that miyuki idolizes Tatsuya too much and it's annoying. Though I would idolizes my older brother too if he was badass. I mean the only reason why Miyuki idolizes Tatsuya was because everyone doubt his potential. She is happy to see him getting the attention and praises she knows he deserve. They both lost their memories of each other when they were young. And once they meet again its basically like meeting a stranger. I never judge Miyuki for acting that way because everyone is naturally conscious of someone who they barely know. She thought Tatsuya hated her that is why she acted harshly to him before. But when she realizes the truth she idolizes him to make up for all of the times she was cruel to him. Miyuki truly believes Tatsuya can be someone important. That is why she tries to do her best to become someone worthy in order to bring him into the light with her.

Interesting to see the almost even split in the polls too between otp and nope. Personally I'm for otp only if they're not directly blood related siblings like some people are speculating. Since Japan doesn't have sanctions against cousins marrying like others have pointed out, i feel the author may likely use this to ship Tatsuya and Miyuki if it comes down to it. Or maybe they're distant relatives or not related at all. I didn't read the light novel yet but i think this seems to be a plausible direction for the series. It would be a copout to the incest-supporting fanbase, but personally I really appreciate the interactions and overall relationship between Tatsuya and Miyuki and honestly prefer such a resolution over them being directly blood-related siblings.

It would be criminal to break apart Tatsuya and Miyuki after all of what the series has set up, and the events of Volume 16 of the Light Novel.

Upcoming(at this time) Volume:

It would be offensive to break up Tatsuya and Miyuki after setting it up for the entire series, finding ways for it to work out like the author did, and having both of them legitimately happy about it. Especially since it would only be because the father of a minor character was potentially spiteful towards Tatsuya, and the father of a different character was forcing his daughter onto Tatsuya for his own personal ideals.

I despise series that start with an idea(more than sibling love in this case), work with it throughout the entirety of the series to make it happen, then suddenly drop it at the apex when the resolution has been found and everything is going to work. The only series I think could get away with this is "Guilty Crown", because it was an "ultimate sacrifice" bitter ending. In this case it's going to just be people falling dramatically out of their established character, which is offensive in any form of media.

I digress, but it's mostly in Spoilers... So I suppose it's fine.

Their mothers are bioligically different, but their father is the same technically. They are somewhere between half-siblings and cousins officially. We still have no confirmation if Miyuki was made using the "egg" of a completely different female than her "mother" at that, since Maya's "egg" was used for Tatsuya.

Through intense genetic engineering, Miyuki is also at the closest a cousin to Tatsuya genetically and has been proclaimed as capable of having flawless children with him. All of this greatly excites Miyuki, as she hates the mere idea of males other than Tatsuya being remotely close to her. She also hates any females being near Tatsuya, which he always shuts them down as it is.

I am someone who starts watching a series and immediately picks up on the general background theme. If the series rolls with a background theme it starts with, than it better deliver at the end. As soon as incestuous relationship was suggested, escalating and establishing it's seriousness throughout, and then now it's arrived at its destination... It has a duty to deliver. And it's doing it reasonably well while tying-up loose ends and making it viable.

Most reviews about this anime don't even insult the incest anyways, they just say it's bad because the MC's are overpowered, despite that being the entire point of the series. Derp. Don't watch it then.

Tatsuya and Miyuki have same father and mother ( Tasurou's sperm, Miya's womb and egg) However Miyuki's body has been genetically altered , to ensure she would not give birth any disfigured or one eyed baby as result of inbred (sounds funny). Technically they are still siblings. Incest is perceived as morally wrong and is frowned upon in Mahoukaverse, Which is why Maya had to cover up the truth, by lying to 10 MCs that Tatsuya is her son.

So far, Miyuki is the one who has sexual feelings for her bro while Tasuya only has sibling love for her, it is different with romantic love, he has not progressed towards it since her love confession. The engagement is Maya scheme to bound Tatsuya to Yotsuba clan , those scums feared Tatsuya would betray them after they treated him like trash for many years, Miyuki became the tool of Maya to control him, since it's his sister's wish so he is reluctantly going along with it .

It's implied that Mayum has strong romantic feelings for Tatsuya as Mari pointed out in vol 14 and vol 17, only because she is currently in denial mode. Her father quite being forced her with Tatsuya, but he knows Mayumi has feelings for Tatsuya after he saw her blush when he suggested the idea of marrying her with Tatsuya, so it's not like she is totally disagreeing with that, Tatsuya also admits he finds Mayumi sexually attractive .

Mayumi is the first girl whom he meets in the beginning if you dont count Miyuki. She's also the one who shares most romantic teasing scenes with him compare to all other girls. She is the only known character besides Sakurai to ever treat him so well on first contact without even knowing or caring if he had any magical skill at all. Her interest is far more pure and genuine than even Miyuki's. Miyuki had a change of heart but it does not change the fact that for the first several years she treated him as badly and heartlessly, i dont blame her because she was taught that way by her mom and aunt.

One thing, Mayumi is still not confess her love for him, while Miyuki was confessed already. I know this proved nothing, but in typical romance works ( lol of course this series is not that genre) the girl who last confessed is usually the winner.

In vol 17 he said with Fujibayashi it's impossible for him to sees Miyuki more than a sister, and Fujibayashi feels bad for him. He didn't disagree with Mari that his engagement is forced by Maya, the guy stated himself several times in LN he doesn't like being controlled by other people. With all things i have pointed out, one might suspect the engagement a.k.a Maya's scheme will not end well. Remember Koichi and Maya are also engaged with each other in the past, we all know how it turned out.

They are genetically different only because the Yotsuba messed up with her gene. It simply did not change the fact that Tatsuya and Miyuki have the same mother and father, so they are still biological siblings. I guess the muscular guy you talked about was Jumonjii ? The author never said anything about that he wanted Mayumi to be with anyone. But there are "flags" between her and Tatsuya in recent volumes, meanwhile there is zero moment between Mayumi and the guy you mentioned. Jumonjii might even ship Mayumi with Tatsuya, especially when he suggested Tatsuya to escort her back to Saegusa house. Miyuki gets jealous when she learned about that.
