It's pretty obvious to everyone that life and death go hand in hand, but which do you find the most comfort and beauty in and why? The large amount of religious backstory behind both is really interesting to me, so I figured you guys might have some interesting beliefs of your own on the topic.

Life after death.
[i]"Yet each man kills the thing he loves,
By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!''

My severe injuries had healed and the sweet taste of blood coated my mouth. I kept walking, my goal vague...trying to dispel the building unease in my chest... Upon entering an open area was the scent of rotting flowers and in the middle of the flowerbed, he stood... Without anyone saying a thing, without his name given, like an unsolved puzzle falling into place by itself, just by seeing that figure, I--understood exactly who I faced... There, stood the God of Death. Why was it that I was seeing beauty in death rather than life? Strangely, I thought he was beautiful... Disoriented, I had failed to comprehend the scene before my eyes. It was not anything like flowers but a large amount of "Death". Had he done this alone?... It's a lie... Koma...Irimi...After all that... No matter how I tried to rouse my will to fight with hatred, more than sorrow, more than rage, the emotion that arose within me was despair.
Because 'my turn' was next.

sometimes i imagine that life and death is also a cycle, or you know like quantum entanglement stuff that in a far far far away parallel universe im connected to another me just like how atoms/subatomic things work, there are lots of things in this universe that is in pairs or symmetry so maybe we all got a another self somewhere, but ye that is just my imagination running wild sometimes when my mind is wandering about self-preservation

Both are two sides of the same coin and as agnostic myself I don't believe in afterlife, so I think death is just the cessation of all vital functions of a living being and there is no much more to it, people just like to overthink it in order to give a meaning to their already meaningless lives.

It's scary though. But it's not so much of scare of dying. More like a scare of becoming nothing. Losing everything. So much uncertainty and confusion of what comes next. If something even comes next. Do people over-think it? A bit. But I'm almost certain every person thinks about it at one point in their conscious life and feels a bit of some uncertainty and discomfort with it. All the more reason to live a full life.

Obviously life because it's the only thing I've ever known and the unknown is scary, so it's not like I want to die, but seeing that my house is actually haunted, it's made me realise that there is life after death, and that it's probably more peaceful anyways.

I agree. I guess thanatophobia is genetic, since there are people completely unable to understand it.

Without life there is no death and without death there is no life, therefore both are equal.

turning back the time sometimes pops up to my imagination too when thinking about life and death, entropy the arrow of time blocking the possibility of backward time travelling, this universe time is only moving forward (future) and its gradually going to disorder/death thats what entropy is, but if humanity survives more centuries find advance science or bends the laws of physics to reverse entropy and allow backwards time travelling then that means the possibility of doing or starting life over again will increase, although we all might end up on a different timelines and not this original timeline, Steins;Gate style

The instant that the blade tore open his flesh, the bright disk of the sun soared up and exploded behind his eyelids.

but after life is the same as before life
that is to say,
it "is not"

Life because I don't believe in anything after death. Though after-lives are interesting. But still, life is much more beautiful and what not because death is just an ending. I hate endings :P

I sometimes feel like I have done this shit before, life I mean.

What if the true meaning in passing your genes is to just create you further down the line just picking up different genetic pieces until they make you all over again:L?

Also I hope there is an after life :v so after dying I can go into the WCW universe and fuck shit up.
