| Somehow I posted in a version of this thread in another universe. Here's what I said in that thread: Genji Monogatari Sennenki - Based on the Tale of Genji, arguably the world's first novel. This anime adaptation, the novel's second, was released in the noitaminA slot during the novel's millennial year of 2009. Fujitsubo joins the imperial household when she is fourteen and Genji nine. She eventually weds the Emperor and becomes Genji's stepmother. Their relationship is passionate but complex and difficult. This is not the version of Genji that Chelizzie mentions above but a more recent adaptation that runs for eleven episodes. |
