Hey there guys! :D
I'm always looking for some animes/mangas about the ancient times (Mesopotamia, Ancient Greek, Ancient Egypt, Roman Empire...), but it's really hard to find some about these topics.. If you know any, I would be happy if you'd share them with me :D Thanks in advance!
Animes I already watched:
Tower of Druaga (you can't really count this one as historical though xD)
Thermae Romae

Mangas I already read:
Historie
Thermae Romae
Akexandros
Heureka
Olympos (kind of)

Thank you! :D Even it's not really what I was looking for, it seems pretty interesting.. Might check this out :D

I read some of Kingdom, it's not really my thing, but it's probably more enjoyable the more you get into the story ^^

How "ancient?" Does the Sengoku Period (ca. 1467-1603 CE qualify)? If so, watch Hyouge Mono.

Saiunkoku Monogatari is set in a fantasy empire, but stylistically it has a lot in common with T'ang China (ca. 600-900 CE).

Seirei no Moribito also takes place in a fantasy Asian empire. Wikipedia describes it as including "several nations, such as Kanbal, a rugged, Himalayan-like kingdom, and New Yogo, a fertile empire that combines elements of feudal Japan and Southwest China."

Ancient like until 500 - 600 AD ^^ Thank you, I'll definitely check out Seirei no Moribito, even if it's not what I'm looking for, it seems pretty cool.

I'm going to throw out a super obscure anime that I really like, Nazca. It deals with the ancient Inca Empire of South America (keep in mind it cuts between the Inca period and modern Japan, the show is about reincarnation). It's mostly known for being the anime in the opening of the TV show Malcolm In The Middle, funny enough. - http://myanimelist.net/anime/1775/Jikuu_Tenshou_Nazca

That one actually looks very interesting, thank you :D Haha, I always wondered what anime that was xD

Thank you to everyone else, I'll defintely check some of these animes/mangas out! ^^

+1 Saiunkoku Monogatari
+1 Seirei no Moribito
+1 Twelve Kingdoms

Although all of these are not technically historical, the settings greatly resemble aspects of ancient Asian (particularly Chinese) empires. And they're all excellent.

There's also Basara (manga) which actually set in a post-apocalyptic Japan, but the premise reverts back to a much older time period in its style, system, and story.

Arslan Senki (anime) is partially fantastical (if I recall correctly) but is set in ancient Persia, and while it's incomplete in its anime form, I hear the novels on which it's based are quite extensive.

If you're interested in ancient Japan from a more cultural perspective, then I'd recommend Uta Koi which retells the stories behind the famous poets of the 100 Poems (Hyakuninisshu) anthology. It's also very amusing despite being historical.

Genji Monogatari (anime) is also from the same time period in Japan.

Kumo no You ni Kaze no You ni (anime movie) is one set in ancient China following a commoner girl who'd be the emperor's wife.

I haven't read this one, but it has the Roman setting that you're after: Cesare. As far as I can tell, it's more character-based rather than story, and is an ongoing manga.

Hope you find something.
