Considering there is absolutely nothing of note for me this year on the gaming front, it made me ponder over this question. If you could make any gaming franchise get a reboot or at least a sequel, which one would it be? For me, the choice is relatively simple. There is a gap in the market for Arena FPS' that are simply for fun and not for little ragers. (I think we all know what franchise I'm thinking of on that front lol) So I think that they should either reboot or add a sequel to the Timesplitters franchise. They were some of the most fun albeit silly games I played. Future Perfect is one of the best of it's genre ever made and was full of so much content. Over 100 playable characters with their own dialogue, loads of weapons, loads of gametypes (Virus in 4 player split screen with 12 bots is hours of fun) and even the abilty to completely create your own maps for all game modes made this worth the price tag at the time. I feel that alot of games seem to miss out on the fun aspect as well as the longevity in favour of profiteering off the masses these days. A reboot of this franchise, at least in my opinion would do really well and remind people how to game for fun. How about you guys, anything you would really like to see? I'd love a new Timesplitters game. That game was so much fun. I still have fond memories of playing 4-player splitscreen with friends on the GameCube, blasting bots and annihilating everyone. |

Easy. Chrono Trigger. Square Enix is already making a 15th installment in the Final Fantasy series but they only made two of the Chrono games. Which is a pity because I found Chrono Trigger fascinating. It had the basic mold of what a cast of characters in a game should be like (silent hero, smart girl, tortured soul, intelligent robot, etc), interesting game mechanics (Techs), an amazing soundtrack and a really good story. I'm still bewildered as to why Squeenix never made more games in the series. Another one would be a game set in the World of Darkness, which was the setting of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. Bloodlines was a disaster on release but fan-made patches brought it back from the dead (no pun intended) and is now regarded one of the best and most underrated RPG experiences you can have. A reboot or a sequel would also bring back some dignity for vampires which have become sissified villains no thanks to Twilight and all those lame vampire shows. |

I loved Timesplitters. I was just playing 4-way split screen Future Perfect a couple of weeks ago, and it was still just as fun as we remembered it. I really hope they make a Timesplitters 4... |

As others have mentioned we so desperately need more Jak & Dexter squeals! I'd also be down with original Devil May Cry squeals or some type of continuation if they could bring their A-game. No over-westernizing it like with DmC: Devil May Cry. Being really into games that involve skateboarding I'd also love a squeal to the S.K.A.T.E series and some more Tony Hawk stuff as well. |

1. Syphon Filter. I absolutely loved those games back in the day and the way I see it, it still remains one the best PS exclusives to date. 2. Dino Crisis. I still remember playing this back in the day. Imagine how much better they could do with today's technology. 3. Like crestofhonesty said, a reboot for the Tony Hawk franchise would be amazing. Some of my best childhood memories went on proving how Tony Hawk was the best skater to my uncle. |

Alien: Isolation. I think about a sequel often. For fun, I came up with a story yesterday. We never experienced the beginning stage of an alien infestation. I want to be a part of the story as the alien grows into adulthood. You play as McClaren, a colonial police officer (and future husband of Amanda) whose small rescue ship intercepted distress calls from Servastapol. The only survivor is Amanda Ripley. She is reclusive. Won't speak to anyone. The crew won't let her out of the medical facility, because they suspect she was responsible for what happened. You question her. She opens up a bit, but is still shaken about all the people she lost (and deeply saddened that she will probably never see her mother again). She starts to have chest pains. A medic rushes over to her and detects a faint second heartbeat. (Who is to say a facehugger wouldn't hurry up its impregnation if it was surrounded by fire, like in the last hours of Isolation? There were several open eggs near her and she breathed pretty heavily, as if she may have been smothered.) She has a panic attack. "Take it out!" she screams. "Kill it!" Another medic is called into the room. He enters from another door and doesn't close the door behind him. (In the movie, they have to press the buttons to open and close them.) She coughs blood. They sedate her and immediately saw through her sternum and spread her ribcage. One of the doctors hurries over to you and turns you around, pushing you out of the room. You hear one of the doctors scream and when you look back they have some of Amanda's blood on them. A creature is standing on Amanda. Everyone is stunned. They don't attack it for fear of hurting Amanda and a few seconds later it runs off through the door the medic left open. Amanda is in an induced coma. You and the other crew members search for the alien and it quickly grows and kills some of the crewmembers, whose bodies can't be found. Finally, you blast it out of an airlock. The ship continues towards the nearest spaceport. You wake up as Amanda Ripley two weeks later. You're in a spaceport on some desolate planet. The place is in chaos. Several aliens are killing the inhabitants. Someone is watching over you. He or she tells you that McClaren told him or her to. You must find McClaren. When you find him, he explains that they thought they had killed it. But after they arrived, people on the station started disappearing. He inspected the ship and found in one of the storage rooms an open egg and the body of a crewmember, with a hole in his chest. He found fragments of another crewmember's clothing. (The one who was turned into an egg through "eggmorphing".) He also found some kind of spider nearby. McClaren can barely move. He was shot in the leg by one of the paranoid looters. Amanda and McClaren must try to survive until another ship is scheduled to arrive, which won't be for days. That's all I got for now. |

Here' s what I think; [list] JSR(Jet Set Radio) game. Fallout 4 Stalker: ? Sauerbraten Yumi Nikke Also something like CS;CZ: Deleted Scenes would be nice. I would say Half-Life 3 but I have no hopes of that ever going to happen, Valve has given up on making game and is focusing on the development of Steam as a everywhere platform(Which is a smart business choice IMO because Source is garbage.) |

I feel that Amanda being infected deviates a bit too much the canon though. If I had to be honest, I think the idea of being around for the fall of Hadley's Hope would make for a much better game. You could play as Newt seeing as how she survives until the Marines arrive in the second film. That way you would truly play as someone who was defenceless and get more depth out of the second film that "shoot aliens, blow stuff up" that all other ones have had from it. |

Little Tail Bronx Series. 1998- Tail Concerto (PS1) 2010- Solatorobo: Red the Hunter (Nintendo DS) 2013- Little Tail Story (phone game) Both TC and Solatorobo are good (especially Solatorobo, which was fantastic), and both games sold horribly. Little Tail Story also went kaput since no one was playing it. The series is made up of cheaply made games that CyberConnect2 gave it their all for and no one cared about anyways. And they're likely only cheaply made since they can't get the funding to make a full fledged console game. Even so, the amount of heart the company puts into the series is obvious and its a shame a sequel looks so far away. |

Fucking God Hand Reboot would work, but i'd prefer a sequel. Developed by platinum games, of course, because who else can do it? 'Stylish action games' (or whatever you wanna call this specific sub-genre) are only really made by platinum anyway, there's too few as it is and God Hand is one of the most unique and best ones amongst them. It's just fun as hell and there's plenty of room to expand upon the gameplay with a sequel. The same things also apply to Viewtiful Joe, Okami and Vanquish. It's very unlikely any of these games will ever get a sequel tho. |

The first on my list are Xenosaga and .hack. By now both studios have been shuffled around, and as I assume both games were a product of their entire development team, it may be in vain to ask for a reboot on the grounds that unless the exact conditions of development were re-created, the result would be a different game (or would it?). This goes for most any wish for a reboot. How about rebooting arcades in the west? I'll die with these dreams. Obligatory Shenmue mention. |
