What do you think the world will look like in 100 years? Will it be more peaceful? Do you think humans will be even more stupid than they are right now? How much do you think technology has developed? Discuss !

We're shifting to electric cars even now. With that in mind, it isn't unreasonable to think in 100 years our reliance on oil will have diminished to nearly nothing.
Technology will also be smaller. We're already building transistors that are smaller than viruses. With that in mind, it isn't unreasonable to think that we'll have enough resources for machines that will benefit most or all of the world.
We're also expanding on sterilization processes, and are about to make major breakthroughs. With that in mind, it isn't unreasonable to think humanity will have cured most afflictions and have a much cleaner environment.
We're building taller and taller buildings every year. With that in mind, it isn't unreasonable to think in 100 years we'll have built something into the stratosphere, perhaps essentially making a space elevator and greatly easing the cost and resources needed to travel into space, greater amplifying our ability to travel in it.

Imagine walking into a an airport, only that airport has an elevator that is the main attraction. You enter it and it shoots you up at an alarming, yet completely safe, speed. Once you're at the top, you enter a shuttle that will launch , aiming towards another airport across the world. The end result would be a standard 12+ hour flight today, taking a couple hours or less in the world of tomorrow. All while wearing your patch that is actually a computer and phone that has a battery that charges on your own electric current and carries a wireless signal from anywhere in the world.

Maybe it's a little hopeful.

Then again, maybe it's a little modest.

Virtual reality will have advanced more than enough to make me happy. It'd be nice if we could upload our brains to the internet.

The world would be less peaceful than today and even more dangerous if the singularity takes over the government and military.

It will deffinetly not be a more peaceful. Economies will be fewer but much bigger. US will be weaker, but still powerful. More dependable on allies. Perhaps the democracies of the world will be tighter.
The technology will move forward, which is both negative and positive. We will be able to do more things, travel faster, cure diseases and all, but the warfare will not be funny to watch.

Look out for Africa

The world will be so destroyed and dying their will be no hope, everyone will be murdering and stealing to survive. It'll be utter chaos. And shortly after we'll die out.

By the 2050s, nature wars are going to blow up to an enormous scale, and Mexico will likely take back their stolen territory from us, practical immortality will become commonplace, etc. It's all in my original post about this (on the last page)

I thought it was a purgatory... because enjoying anime is a punishable sin in Mal.
