The manga Bitter Virgin, in my opinion, would make a GREAT addition to the anime world, as it's one of the BEST mangas I have ever read :)

im sry but i dont agree bitter virgin's strength relies on the emotion and intensity of the moment. to do that mangas are usually dose a better job at it and anime usually ends up butchering it. so for this series i think its best if it stays as a manga. anyways thats just my thought on this.

Yes, I agree with yunfanz. Bitter Virgin needs to stay manga. I feel like the anime would be horrible. I love the manga and I think it's the best way to present the story.

hmmm, you both have a point, but say if the anime adaptation weren't a completely ecchi series, but depicts the exact epicness of the manga, wouldn't THAT be awesome??

Yes. Yes, it could be. It's the fear that they won't put any budget into this, do cheezy voice acting, and change the story that gives me pause. If they make it and do it right, then I will be beyond thrilled, and it will enter the realms of serious anime such as the likes of Koi Kaze.

YES!! Though if it were to happen, and it came out as something like Rosario + Vampire, I think it would totally ruin the image of Bitter Virgin in my head :(

If they turned something like this into an ecchi that would be increadably offensive

That's what I posted. Maybe it would do better as a live action or TV drama. Its been a long time since anime has done serious, dramatic series. Most of it is slice of life, harem, ecchi, etc

The story truly is an incredible emotional coaster that deserves to be made into an anime. The writer truly put her heart and soul into the tale and made it a truly bittersweet tale of grief and healing.

That said, I don't know if it can/should be an anime. The anime studio may tone down the rape/tragedy to soften the tale, which can be both an acceptable and unacceptable thing to do IMO. If you press me, I'd say unacceptable, because I feel that nothing about this show should be reduced in impact.

Secondly, this is a higly personal tale, inspired by the writer having suffered a miscarriage. I am not sure whether an anime adaptation can reach people the same way as the manga did.

Still, there is a studio that will adapt the manga in full and not leave anything out and the writer gives approval, I say go for it.
