For anyone that is interested. http://i.imgur.com/ncMA5f8.png

From what I've seen these are some really big sites they're targeting, and even if you don't use these sites, most of the manga you see on other sites were taken from sites like these, especially botato. Well, what do you guys think?

Anime sites and other ways of viewing anime. These are also targeted. Look out kissanime. http://www.meti.go.jp/policy/mono_info_service/contents/downloadfiles/140414.pdf

First of all, I was afraid they'd be targeting scanlation groups, since those are the 'source' of all the material you can find on the currently targeted websites. Glad that's not the case though. Even if all those sites in the first post would be taken down, it's not like we won't be able to read manga on the internet anymore.

Secondly, Mangatraders, really? That site's been down for almost two months now.

Does anyone know where exactly in that powerpoint I can find the list of series? I don't know Japanese, so I have no idea where to look.

This really is a shame.

In the past Onemanga and Mangatoshokan dissappeared, and now great sites such as Batoto, mangahere and mangareader are being targeted.

Oh my god! I read many manga on mangahere.com. :(

I really hope that 'Anti-Piracy-Movement' will have a negative impact for the manga-industry though. Sure, that sounds crazy. But without Mangahere I wouldn't have known many Manga which I also used to buy.
Due to sites like that Manga became more popular.

My final conclusion:

Hopefully, since it could also go the way of Megaupload and lots of series could be lost since no-one saved a copy.

The chinese sites such as mangafox, mangahere and co will only laugh at this. Japan has no jurisdiction over them lol

The only popular aggregation site that will actualyl take manga down is batoto. But that is bad enough, since many scanlators release their works there.

Most of mangafox manga are Licensed any ways. Manga here is not a Chinese site it's from norway. and all the big 3 have Licensed tag on them also attack on titan. :( so those are not available. They're in trouble as well.

They told them to stop uploading them since they're Licensed in the US. So manga here had to comply so that just show that manga here is just as vulnerably as any other sites.

When will this be in effect? What exactly will they do? Sorry, I do not know Japanese and could only look at the list of sites. Is there any timeframe on this so-called Anti-piracy movement? What are its impacts?

They said August 1st. They will be giving notice to multiple anime, manga and other file sharing sites to remove there product from there sites.

So if it does happen then a lot of anime and manga will be gone, and things will just not be the same. But let's see how things go in these upcoming weeks and then we can see how big of a impact this really is.

I beg to differ! There's quite a few out there sir, it's not "the only good functional anime website", don't worry too much, like people have said above, they can't shut all of them down.

Fandom always finds a way. If they think they can stop piracy with just that, then good luck to them. They'll just lose people who'd be interested in them. Instead of doing so, they should offer an option for international fans (and by that I mean fans who don't live in the US) to read it also.

This is completely infeasible on Japan's part. They're still relying on print media and over 20% of their population is above the age of 60. I'm pretty sure they're still relying on fax machines and Windows 2000 as well. Do you really think a bunch of batty, xenophobic old men are even capable of understanding how something like the internet works, let alone capable of accomplishing such a goal?

Don't get me wrong: I actually am in favour of such a movement since it allows for services like Crunchyroll Manga and Shonen Jump Alpha to finally start growing, but the way that this movement is being handled is just ruthlessly absurd. With the way things currently are, there's no possible way for such a movement to actually be effective.

I think I will be the only one to say that it was a great move for the jap government to stop piracy. Of course, I won't be able to read my favorite manga airing but I don't mind paying to read it if it helps the mangaka or the studio.

That just a kind of mad.I assume most expert okatu will read 100 titles and each title has 60 book included in average and average manga price is $10

100*60=6000
6000*10=60000

Assume expert okatu will also watch 80 titles of anime and average anime is 20 episode
each season mostly cost $60 *I also assume most paid anime watching site due to their license lost or do not exist, even it exist, most okatu will use 6 years and it is still $7200 but most anime site have some anime not added so we had to choose 5 of them and most site ripoff you by ads and bottleneck and you had to pay twice more to watch as 1080p also do not forget most user have insufficient bandwidth and speed to watch online so people prefer offline and physical one instead of ripoff sites and network problem included some of okatu has problem to go yo internet*

80*20=1600
1600*60=96000

TOTAL COST:156000

Remember, big studio has 5 of titles and 1000 paid customers.
60*5*10*1000+5*60*1000=33000000
if all okatu become paid customers, then it will be $33000000000 that much and there is 20 big studio, that means entire industry will
earn $6600000000000 in total and the anime studio will be as wealthy as mark zuckerberg. Some popular anime creator like studio pierrot has twice as others more mangas quanity that mean studio pierrot has money as much as bill gates.
Also, without pirate okatu and warez okatu, entire okatu universe would not be so big and most studio will not bother to make anime anymore :-<
Even there is paid sites and most people can use it,it still contains $1000000000 copyright fee per month for the company due to more user and $10000000 bandwidth usage fee. There is 6 main paid sites and this industry will still earn 720000000000
for anime and 100 times more for manga due to there is too much manga that means 79200000000000

I wish they would release their manga day 1 translated. Manga companies could do it and it would be simpler than how scanlators do it. Then I would show my thanks with a fuck you and pay for them, then show them how Murka' truly pirates shit. I would even buy a professional scanner just to share with people.

Mangafox can be a crappy source nowadays anyway. Every time something is considered to be "licensed", in ANY country no less minus Japan, they'll take it down. Although I am unhappy about mangahere being #2…
