Are nosebleeds the thing of the past?

If my memory serve me right, I really don't recall any recent anime that I have watched have those perverted nose bleeds. Of course there are probably a few out there but to me it seems rare in some cases. Are we entering a new phase of anime fads? I remember watching some anime that are a few years old and they have nosebleeds every episode or minute.

Sure why not.
And I mean that in the most sexually painful way possible.

Most recent anime I recall with nose bleeds is Love Lab which isn't even a year old.

It's certainly fading away I think. I can't really tell though since I don't really watch anime that would have scenarios of this for the most part

The only reasonably recent one I can think of that has a lot of nosebleeds is Yuru Yuri. The second season aired in 2012, and an OVA is apparently in the works, and I doubt Chitose's nosebleeds will stop any time soon. Of course, Yuru Yuri parodies and exaggerates the nosebleed idea. I would imagine that it is a reaction to the fad.

Other than that, I know I've seen a few fairly recent series with the odd nosebleed, but none of the scenes have been particularly memorable.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

I haven't been watching recent anime lately so I wouldn't know. I also don't really watch animes like that.

Yeah. I think animators have realised that the generic anime fan is (just) smart enough to realise when something is meant to be sexy so they can save money on not animating nosebleeds now.

Happens in One Piece still, cause, well Sanji.

Good riddance. I don't think I have once found it funny.

Mostly because I've always just thought it was retarded. Not to mention the situations they are present in are almost always cliched and contrived.

Now if only those could go away...

Seems like it. It's good to see one of those cliche's vanishing from the world of anime. Perhaps the genre of ecchi is evolving! Oh wait I shouldn't get my hopes up on that... The only thing that will keep evolving is the woman's bust sizes.

The only show I liked the nose bleeds - even then it wasn't needed - was in Baka test. I couldn't care less about it being gone or staying. It doesn't add any comedy or value to the show.

That is for sure. I am glad it is like that. Awkward boners are better.

I won't miss them. Only time I found a nosebleed to be funny was in Gintama, in that episode in which the turtle sniper thought Gintoki got a nosebleed by getting shot while in reality he was just looking at a girl changing clothes.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

The only time I liked it was in Dragon Ball, when they were fighting that invisible man and Roshi's giant nosebleed help them to find him.

Probably. Otherwise the male protagonist of Brynhildr in the Darkness would get nosebleeds all the time. Then again, it's usually perverted characters who get nosebleeds, so it depends if anime nowadays still have perverts in it.

Probably because because this year more serious anime's are airing, but i do believe the nosebleed thing is fading. The sneeze one is still here tho

No, they simply gonna be less prevalent because as all things when they are overused then you have to find a balance. At some point anime overdid it with the nose-bleeding in every place and the "joke" got annoying from overuse and so the creators realize this and try to avoid it a little.
It doesn't mean it will disappear completely but it means that it will probably be less prevalent and used in a more balance way.
Who knows at some point it might get overused again and the pendulum will swing back and forth.

+1 I stopped watching One Piece after Sanji s constant nose bleeds in fishman Island.
