If there's an image with how could I cut just the text out and leave everything else I tried using a eraser then filling in the white, but I was wondering if there is a faster way with Gimp, or whatever else. The words and image have lots of different shadings so the way I did wasn't really good.

disclaimer - it's been a really long time since I tinkered with my profile and I didn't know css really at all before then, so at this point I'm css illiterate (I can't even be bothered to fix a problem that for some reason cropped up in my list style recently)

I hesitate to ask this since I think it seems impossible, but is there any way to code for a little icon you could toggle on and off in your lists to designate which items are favorites? purely aesthetic purposes

Hello, I have some problems I need to fix ,appreciate any help.

First my top bar goes higher when I m logged out (see picture below)
Second (not very important) with chrome there is small gap on hover highlight which is done by this code: ( in the CSSforFoxgirls import)

helping image

Oh yeah I have one more problem on chrome. the text 'Sort_By' is done with the content code and if don't put the underline "_" instead of "space" the text is seperated in two line the 'sort' above and the 'by' below.

Thanx for your time.

But, it is for html. So I copied the code and converted at

Unfortunately, that didn't work and all I got was a wall of text

If anyone knows how to fix it, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi guys, I'm having a problem customizing my anime list.

I set the width of my list to 823px, but it comes out quite a bit bigger than that. I take a screenshot and measure it and the list is about 1029px wide.

I also have the list set to 274px from the right, but it has ended up about 342px from the right.

I have this website's zoom at 100%, so that can't be the issue.
Could someone please help me figure this out?

Sounds like the image uploaded was a JPG and not a GIF or PNG with transparent background, like the originals are. Can't confirm it cuz you didn't post any examples of the problem or link to the images....

You don't have to start it over. Look in the code for the link to the pic(s) of the buttons. There seem to be a lot of links. I think you can just replace those with your own version

Could someone please help me do any/all of the following?
(This picture will also help explain: http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad350/PandaJerk007/Screenshot74.png)

Get rid of the "Add" button for people viewing my list.
Round the corners of the "Currently Watching" and "All Anime" bar.
Center the text "Anime Title" in its column.
Center the names of the anime between the right side of the thumbnails, and the right side of the column.

Did you replace every instance of the links? They come up like 10 times. If you replaced every link to the pic there will be some change. When I look at your layout there's no sign of any menu editing... also you never linked us to the pic menus you're replacing the buttons with which had the original problem

If you look thru the code, it looks like he has 2 versions of that button menu you need to make a remake of. Ones a hover menu seen when you hover over the pics and what category is selected. This one:
http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag140/shoutaazuma/allbuttons2_zpsa4f0528c.png
and the other is for what you normally see when not pointing to the menu:
http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag140/shoutaazuma/allbuttons1_zpsa6a1597a.png

Upload your remakes of the button menus from the two links above to some site. If there's a problem with the menus you made link us to the pic to see what the problem is

Find every link in the code
http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag140/shoutaazuma/allbuttons2_zpsa4f0528c.png
and replace it with a link to your version of the hover menu

find every link in the code
http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag140/shoutaazuma/allbuttons1_zpsa6a1597a.png

and replace that with a link to your version of the normal menu. You have to replace every single link in the code with ones to your own.

Thanks a ton VeriTi! With your help I was able to fix almost everything I wanted to with the list. There was one problem, or maybe I wasn't as clear as I should've been in my question, but the code that rounded the corners of the bar at the top also rounded the corners of some other areas.

Was looking at VeriTi's current list and copied the main part since it's close to what I want to do with the top bar and category links but there were some selectors I haven't seen before so I removed all the codes and tested those selectors one by one but could not figure out some of them since a few would mess with too many things at once or have no apparent effect so if someone could explain how those work I'll be glad. I'll list them here.

@-moz-keyframes MoreAnimationOn
@-moz-keyframes MoreAnimationOff
[class^="td"]:nth-child(n+3)
a[href*="editlist.php"]
br + br + table[class^="header"]
div[id^="more"] .borderRBL
div[id^="more"][style*="block"]
div[id^="more"][style*="none"]
div[id^="scorediv"]
table:nth-of-type(n+4) .table_header
table:nth-of-type(3) td
table:nth-of-type(3) td strong
table:nth-of-type(1) td:nth-child(n+6)
tr:hover [class^="td"]:first-child:not(.borderRBL)
tr:hover td[class^="td"] div
#list_surround table:not([class^="header_"])

I also did some research about pseudo selector and pseudo elements such as :active :hover :nth-of-type, etc. However I'm still unable to understand those:
:nth-child(an + b)
:nth-last-child(an + b)
:nth-last-of-type()
:root

@-moz-keyframes is used for animations, if you go to the list and press the "More" button next to "Add" button more info come out in a nice animation(also in a great position and form). Is used to create more complex animations than the normal transition codes.

http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css_selectors.asp
here is the table of pseudo-elements, I think that the example and descriptions are very easy to understand how to use them.

Thanks I haven seen that table before but the ones I didn't understand were only the 4 I mentioned before, I re-read it just in case but 2 of the 4 still don't make much sense:
:nth-child(n+b)
:root

About the other ones I asked I really meant those specific cases and not pseudo-elements nor anything else just those specific cases:
a[href*="editlist.php"]
br + br + table[class^="header"]
div[id^="more"] .borderRBL
div[id^="more"][style*="block"]
div[id^="more"][style*="none"]
div[id^="scorediv"]
table:nth-of-type(n+4) .table_header
table:nth-of-type(1) td:nth-child(n+6)
tr:hover [class^="td"]:first-child:not(.borderRBL)
tr:hover td[class^="td"] div
#list_surround table:not([class^="header_"])

This is how I tested them. First on a completely clean list where there was no code at all aside from the specific selector being tested at the moment I test those selectors with the exact same conditions: "position: fixed", "top: 45px", "background-color: #000000", "color: #FFFFFF" since those proprieties make it easier not notice changes on the list.
For example table:nth-of-type(1) td:nth-child(n+6) under those conditions seems fix all category links at the top but with "All Anime" on an even higher place besides being the only one affected by the background-color despite all category links moving to a fixed position together and using other values on the place of n+6 makes it even more strange like removing portions of the topbar. Similarly some of those selectors do nothing visible it's like they are not even doing anything at all while others just select too many things at once. I really mean those in specific since any other combination of selector and pseudo-element works just fine, I'm sure they do something since nobody would use it if it did nothing I'm just a little lost since they do nothing under those conditions above or select too much things at once.

The list is almost perfect, could I please get some help making these last couple changes?

Changes:
Center the totals in their box
Round the bottom right corner of the lists
Pic showing what I mean:
http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad350/PandaJerk007/2-1.png

Make the "Edit" button invisible (but still clickable), or where you can only see it if you hover over it.
Round the corners of the category menu
Fix the number sign area (by rounding a corner maybe?) so it doesn't look messed up

@pandajerk007

For centering totals and rounding bottom right corner:
.category_totals
{text-align: center;
border-radius: 10px 0 10px 10px;}

for edit button:
#list_surround div[style="float:right;"]
{opacity:0;}
#list_surround div[style="float:right;"]:hover
{opacity:1;}

for number sign rounded corner:
.table_header:first-of-type
{border-radius: 10px 10px 0 10px;}

@_yukarisekai_
add
.animetitle
{font-size: 15px;}

these codes might not work, i'm on mobile and wrote them straight from my mind, i can't check them myself ^^;

X:nth-child(b) select every X element that is the B child of its parent, this is not used with An+B afaik.

:root select the topmost parent that is the <body>, is not really that complex.

[ ] square brackets are used to specify some attributes on the element to be checked to select them, X^=Y means that the element X attribute start with Y string, X*=Y means that the element X contain Y string, so that way you can select some specific link or table or whatever element that contain some specific attributes.

:not(X) is used to exclude some elements, can be .class #id [pseudo-elements].

The easy way to find what the selector do is by deactivate some properties in live view, using firebug(or devtools), or adding a new selector with just a different color, like "background: #ff0000 !important;".

I still don't get :root if it selects <body> what is the point of using it? Wouldn't it be better to just use "body {...}" instead?

Thanks! After your explanation and some testing I finally got how those square brackets selector work, they are way easier to use than some other selectors.

I forgot to mention that I use firebug for testing 'cause it would be a pain to save and refresh the page every single time I want to test something but thanks again using #ff0000 makes it easier to find what the selector select than with the #000000 I was using. Now I got almost what all of those selectors from that list I posted before selects, however there are 5 that still don't do anything noticeable but the must do something since they wouldn't be on VeriTi's code if they did nothing. Those are the ones:
div[id^="more"]
div[id^="more"] .borderRBL
div[id^="more"][style*="block"]
div[id^="more"][style*="none"]
div[id^="scorediv"]
Looking at it most of those should be related to more button but they are not noticeable even with #ff0000.

Edit reason: I made some more tests so decided to change edit my post with just what is left off that list.

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to this site and I just made my own custom CSS with the help of Shishio's template, but I seem to have a little problem that I hope you guys can fix. After the Edit link in every row of my list of Anime, there seems to be a little hyphen symbol that I'm trying to get rid of. I've tried many things to no avail. Can anyone here help me out? I would appreciate it tremendously.

Hey guys whats up?
I have 2 questions:
1) I have the square layout design(by the way huge credit to the designer, amazing layout. Sorry I don't remember his name). Link to my list:
http://myanimelist.net/animelist/SuperSmashBros
I want to change my header picture but it will never fit exacly the size I need. I saw the creator saying to do 420 high 1920 width but I could never find an image that was bigger than this to resize it so my question is basicly if you can resize it upwards. I think it's impossible because it's only logical for it to be that way but I'm asking anyway.
2) the top-bar really pisses me off. It gets in the way of everything! So my question is if I can remove it, put it in the very bottom of the list so it will stay there and not bother me or make it like in this link(the black version): http://origin.myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=449097
I tried but I guess the list is fixated with the design of that bar. So yeah, if I can change that.
Thanks a lot in advance :)

http://myanimelist.net/animelist/SuperSmashBros
Thanks a lot in advance :)

i got you. this this code. use 850x250 image for banner. or you can use any size image, it will auto resize. just replace he inline image

Question! I have a tag box on the left side of my list, around the middle-bottom of the page. A few people are telling me that the tag box is cut off for them, and that they can only see the first 2 lines of the tag box. Is there any way I can fix this to where it's formatted properly for all viewers? Or do I just have to move the tag box even higher than it already is? o_O

Here's the link to MyAnimeList: http://myanimelist.net/animelist/LastReaction

And here's an image to explain what I'm talking about: Helping Image

add
#list_surround div[style="float: right;"]
{color: transparent !important;}

at the bottom of your css.

The easy way to find what the selector do is by deactivate some properties in live view, using firebug(or devtools), or adding a new selector with just a different color, like "background: #ff0000 !important;".

All the div[id^="more"] are not noticeable until you click on the More button and all the info appear, then try to change some properties and you will see what happens.

I see so that is why I didn't notice I almost never click on the More button, guess that is why I also didn't notice anything with .borderRBL as well. Thanks! ^^

Quick question. For the DVD/MANGA cover hover css import on my animelist it is working fine, but on my mangalist a lot of the manga covers do not show up. How can I fix this?

And yes I am using the correct css for the manga cover hover option.

there's something wrong with the "right" manga import so you either have to make your own or find another one. I might be able to help you find it later.

Ah, thank you. That one is better, but I'm still having the same problem with just a few series. Oh well no biggie. Just so long as most of 'em show up I'm happy. ^^ Thanks again.
