| So, I'm curious. I realize Helling: The Dawn is a prequel, but I also realize it was released after most of the Hellsing Ultimate episodes were. I plan to watch both, but I'm also wondering if I should start with The Dawn, since it's a prequel. I'd rather not spoil the main series, if at all possible, so if The Dawn has any spoilers in it, I'd rather watch it second. If it doesn't have any spoilers, would you still recommend that I watch it after Ultimate, or do you think it serves as a better introduction to the series? |

| Ultimate. Dawn was only what I'm presuming was a partial adaptation from the manga, and 1/6th of it is actually a promo for a separate manga. It's also only worth watching after you've met the characters found in the OVA. It's more of a special easter egg than a proper prequel. |
| Most people don't even watch The Dawn at all, it's just three nine minute specials to commemorate/ advertise the Manga. Speaking of which, the Manga is ongoing by the way, you should totally check it out after watching Ultimate and reading the original Hellsing. |

| I wouldn't say The Dawn manga is ongoing, in fact it is on infinite hiatus, one day Hirano just felt he is too tired of it, so we saw no continuation ever since for years now. Also The Dawn anime doesn't even include all chapters from The Dawn manga, only 4 out of 6 chapters were animated. Anyway, my advice is the following: Watch Hellsing Ultimate episodes 01-04, then watch all three episodes of The Dawn, then watch Hellsing Ultimate episodes 05-10. It makes the most sense this way. |
