Like it's been previously stated in this topic, just go to top TV shows and you'll see TTGL right up there. Go to top movies and there is KnK 5. MAL has a way of splitting them up for a reason, you know. Don't base everything on the combination, because you're arguing against the point of the combination. The fact that it's a movie doesn't change the fact that it was good. Go cry somewhere else if that's your argument.

First off, whats wrong with this topic? Calling the people who talk here "retards" is being a little condescending. why don't you step off your high horse and have fun like the rest of us.

Second, I don't think you understood the argument at all. Drunk_Samurai was saying that since its a movie and not a series, KnK 5 has no place at the top. So basically, he said that no anime movie has the criteria necessary to be #1 because it isn't "long enough". The fact that movies and series are judged as different mediums was never an issue nor would it be because wither it is an anime movie or series, guess what... an anime movie is still anime, and has as much of a right to be #1 on MAL as any series. MAL isn't dedicated to anime "series's" but all anime, so why would an anime being #1 on MAL not count just because it isn't as long as another anime?

But I'm going to go with rooting for Kara no Kyoukai on personal values.
The Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann fanbase is full of guys who focus on the "manly" archetype of the male leads. Seeking a drawback to very conservative values on gender and seeing characters like Kamina and shows like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann as their light of hope. A good half are joking and making fun of manliness, but the other half do indeed appear to seek a reestablishment of older values.

Whereas Kara no Kyoukai forces an extremely rough, tough, even mannish woman as a main character with so far not a single strong male lead. And most of the fanbase focus on things such as flawless artwork.

Again on values, Kara no Kyoukai is much more appealing to me. So I can only hope for a Kara no Kyoukai top above Gurren Lagann.
