Lol, they could all stop him immediately, but left that task to bronze saints. Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE MAIN CHARACTERS OF THIS SERIES, haha, how cheap xD

I give relatively to other eps 5/5 though :P

Well, they left the Bronze Saints took care of what was left of Saga because if they interfered that would destroy their resolve. And how fitting, Athena resurrected them al! I didn't see that coming at all! :P

I was expecting a sad story or something to explain why Gemini went all evil, but instead it's only because he was weak against his other, evil personality? Bah this series is so simple it makes me sad.

And it looks like we get right back into fighting for the next episode with no break in between. How fun! :/

Hmm I thought Shiryu flew into the outer space? I wonder how did he came back lying on the ground dead waiting to be save. Did Shura(The Capricorn) saved him?

And also the episode end with all the main character's armors broke. It's like an excuse to change/reconstruct/upgrade into a better one, since Seiya's armor was broke by combining the powers to attack. =P

^^I wanted to ask the same about Shiryu.

Those Gold Saints are a prett lazy bunch. Instead of hurrying to help they waited for Saori to slowly climb the stairs while Ikki and Seiya were struggling against Gemini. And of course at the end they let the halfdead Bronze Saints handle Gemini. -___-

Btw, I can't count how many times Ikki died and resurrected already, lol xD

Gold saints logic and Mu's especially- Hmm...we could kick this guy's ass but let this half dead kids handle it like they handled everything else until now why i was chilling. Why would i want to dirty my gold cloth now that we are in the last episode of this arc.
Besides we have no right to interfere, is not like he tried to kill the most precious person we must protect while fooling us along with the real pope and is not like anybody of us got brainwashed by him and had his brother killed because of him right?

Also lol. Athena revived the bronze saints but completely ignore the cold ones lying there with them. I mean especially Hyouka's master wasn't a bad guy but she defrost Hyoka and let the other guy there frozen to death.

Hey at least he has an excuse. His suppose to be the Phoenix the immortal bird rising from it's ashes. What about the others though? They die and come back with no excuse.

Why does this remind me of Sailor Moon's final battle with Queen Beryl? lol
Other than that, this finale sure was weird...
I thought Shiryu ( fav. character) was in space, when the hell did his body get back to the sanctuary?!
And what the hell? Athena and a marching band climbing stairs slowly as if Seiya and Ikki weren't being beaten to death by Gemini? Run you idiots!
Finally, did Gemini/ Saga die? Or was it like " my evil side has gone away and now I'm back to normal" and decides to sleep on Athena's lap...
And Seiya and the others, they looked kind of dead...or at least in a coma.
I'm sorry but what kind of resolving ending to an arc was that?!
Then again, this was from the 80s lol

Shiryu was supposed to be an eternal star or something, maybe it just meant his cosmos though so maybe it makes sense.

I must say, despite some less than great revivals, this one in particular was one of the best I've seen. If anyone could revive them it'd be Athena, and she did revive them once most of the hard part was done. I'm happy with this. Perhaps the only revival that I've seen which is better is any in Dragon Ball since the mechanic of wishing someones life back was introduced since episode 1.

Saori's speech about an evil world existing that's run by power so that it won't be ruined being one that should be ruined was pretty powerful. I like the message. If i had to pick two major themes Saint Seiya proudly holds high every chance it gets, they'd be 1. Never giving up/self sacrifice for justice, and 2. Justice and love do not fade and will win in the end; even if they occasionally briefly lose to evil.

The entire scene of Saori walking and gaining an army of Gold Saints and the healed bronze saints behind her was pretty good too. Saga's nightmare came true! This was cheesy and the fight was basically just a moral message, but it was fun and I liked the episode for that. I'm also glad Saga was shown to have more depth than we were briefly shown two episodes ago.

Going to take a break from Saint Seiya as this seems like a good stopping point, but I'll come back to it after I watch another shorter anime.

Oh lastly, this animation was incredible. Saint Seiya is my favorite shounen for animation hands down, possibly art as well which is a pretty big deal for such an old show.

Ahhhg, I'm done, reading all these threads was such a bad idea. Makes me wanna vomit of all these pointless criticisms.

Saint Seiya was never a show to watch expecting too much logic or realism, this is a show based on MYTHOLOGY ffs with lots of romantic/poetic tones about warriors honor and stuff! Of course you are not going to be this picky.... if you want realism people go watch another show.

By the way... Athena NEVER revived anyone, they were all about dying. This is not explained in the anime though but in the manga, unfortunately.

And later in the series is explained how Shiryu survived. Be patient, series is not over yet

Yeah. The anime does leave Shiryu coming back open to interpretation. But unless the following episodes suggest otherwise, I'm pretty sure it was Shura since that's how it happened in the manga.

I watched the first chapter when I was a kid on french tv. It was named 'Les chevaliers du zodiaque'. I never finished it completely. Now I have watched the original Japanese version until this episode.

Are the saints dead at the end after they used their combined cosmos ?
