Click here to play this game.

First, go and play this game. It is VERY small and you can finish it in less than one minute if you know what to do. It is basically a small talk with an robot. I will not spoil anything. Try to play it without spoilers first, if you are stuck, read this: (But really, spoilers will ruin your experience)

After finishing the game, answer: Did you feel bad for the robot? Did you cried?
I think it would be interesting if we discuss why humans cry. I mean, some people cry for dogs that died, but don't cry for parents that died. Some people cry because they lost a match in a game but doesn't cry when 200 people die in an party (Santa Maria - Brazil).

What you think?

I felt veeeery sad. *sigh*

Answer: No. I did not cry. I might cry 'cause I just wasted 10 minutes of my time.

You should have a deeper talk with the robot.

I don't understand what was sad about this. If there was more backstory as to who the character I controlled was, then maybe it would've played with a couple heartstrings.

No, I didn't feel bad for the robot.

As for why humans cry, I can only suspect that it's from a great pain or a great joy. I don't even remember when I last cried, so I wouldn't be able to give a clear cut answer.

Don't worry. I'll have deep, philosophical discussions with all robots I come across. Lesson learned.

Nahh. I think it's because the processor of the computer couldn't handle chess. Then, BOOM! It exploded. That's the logic behind that one. That, or, the game maker was too lazy to put in a game of chess. Even solitaire would've been good.

If you play through the game you'll find out it was because while they were playing chess, the ship was destroyed by the sun.

Yep

I played through both endings and did not feel a damn thing, but people called me an insensitive bastard for having a pokerface all the way through Clannad so yeah... Could be just me (but I don't think so)

Why should I feel sorry? I didn't understand the point of all this? It's a robot... it doesn't think nor feel...

I don't see any benefit to staying on the ship. Whether he was an ai or a human isn't important. I'd rather take a slim chance at survival than give up and die. Maybe if it was a choice between sacrificing myself and saving the ai or something, then it would be a difficult decision. But the ai is being incredibly selfish by asking me to die with it right after lying to me about what was happening. It sucks that it is screwed either way but I'm not resigning myself to the same fate just because it doesn't want to die alone.

Also, I progressed through the dialogue by saying "I'm hungry" and then typing the words on the food box.

AI: "Would you like to see the famous photo ever taken? Sphinx: Giza; The Dubai Skyline; Tiananmen Square; Afghan Girl. I love talking about them. Are you interested?"

Me: "I want a picture of naked Afghan Girl. I know you've hide it somewhere on your folder."

AI: ....

Okay then... most of the time, she definitely has the most messed up dead ends in Saber's route.

I told the robot to go fuck itself.

I also told him I'd rather spend my time alone with mai waifu, than with it.

I said I wanted to use the escape pod and not die with him. He then kept asking the same thing over and over again about not wanting to die alone.
What an arsehole, i had a chance of survival. Why would i feel sad for him. He killed me.

Why the hell would I cry for a robot? That doesn't make any sense to me. I like the music though.

And look at the game's comments. A lot of people saying they got very sad. Humans are complicated. But I maybe know why.

Saying you feel bad for a robot is weird, and people would laugh at you if you did that. At the comments, someone was proud enough to say he felt bad for the robot, and all you had to do is to thumbs up hes comment in an anoyimous way.

Thumbs up really don't mean jack shit. I mean look at youtube, pretty much all top comments on every video ever are stupid as shit and/or don't add anything.

I wanted to escape but it didn't let me. I did feel a bit sad for the robot but robots don't have feelings. It was programmed to say that it was afraid and then kill me. I liked the music.

Fuck that robot.

You wake up from hibernation and a random dude does the same shit, would you feel anything for a creeper like that?

"You wake up from hibernation and a man in his underwear asks you to play chess with him"
Me: ...
Dude: Wanna play chess?
Me: Why don't you have any pants on and where is everybody?
Dude: They are dead, Wanna see my photo album?
Me: Dude where are?
Dude: Undrground, atomic war happened, you are the only survivor.
Me: The bodies, other chambers?
Dude: I'm lonely.
Me: Where in space aren't we?
Dude: ...
Me: See ya.

I would have broke it at the first signs of its madness. Honestly the machine pissed me off if I were in that situation. First off it tries to lie, then you have to beat down the options just to force out the truth, etc, etc. The machine has went mad. I feel no more sorry for it than I would someone trying to use the threat of sucide to keep me with them. Let em burn.

If you broke the AI you never would have gotten to the escape pod. You'd just die alone in a spaceship. That would have been a terrible decision.

Maybe I felt a little sympathetic and hesitated at first, but I certainly didn't cry.
It would be a tough decision to make in a real life scenario, for sure.

I didn't really build a rapport with the chess playing robot, so i guess i didn't really hesitate to leave, rather die with food in a pod with a view than having a robot making me read.
