Most shounens are deeper with more meaning than shoujos. Even comedies are deeper than shoujos. As about Naruto being deeper than other shounens? Well i guess that depends on what you compare it with. There certainly shounens out there that are more thought provoking and with even more deep meanings. But whether Naruto has some messages or not it is made in a way to attract young teenage audience. It's obvious the mangaka doesn't want to create a really grown-up work. That doesn't mean a grown up can't enjoy it but some things are too corny for a grown-up mind. |

It isn't meant to be deep, it's at the same level as Twilight in terms of American Pop Culture, it is fucking brilliant when it comes to marketing, I mean from a marketing perspective it truly is a master piece ... but from a critical or literary perspective (the perspective one would take to assess plot/characters) ... it is shallow to say the least. |

I have stalked these forums for many a year now, and I am disappointed. Disappointed there are so many people who misunderstand my art. Saying it's shallow? That's just plain offensive.
