The anime was good until they came up with this parallel worlds/time travel bullcrap.
And about Yuki being depressed for 10000 f***ing years just because he lost his girlfriend, really... i mean, REALLY?

I don't get why people are bitching about the hammer, it's cool if everyone has a future diary in the shape of a damn handy, practically no one complains about the magic fighting scenes at the end.
But the slightly funny scene where Yuno breaks in with a hammer is worth bitching, damn I don't understand some people.
Haters gonna hate just to hate something I guess, like always.

As for me I enjoyed Mirai Nikki, actually enjoyed doesn't even nail it. I was reading the manga nearly from the very start and I really liked that one already. To believe they actually managed to make the anime even better is just something else. All the studios fuck up all the mangas they turn into animes but I just feel it's different with Mirai Nikki. I'm missing the ending a little in the anime, it just should be there. However subtly they pointed out all the things necessery to know roughly how it ends, so it's not too bad I think.
Even the fact I already knew the story couldn't diminish my fun in watching the anime.

Never thought I'd say that but Mirai Nikki is better than Elfen Lied, I've got to give it a 11/10 if that was possible.

Strange ending for a great anime.

I never read the manga so the plot was a completely random roller coaster for me. I honestly didn't know how the plot was going to be resolved and you couldn't really tell if the ending was going to be sad, happy, or ambiguous. It turned out that it was all 3.

My only gripe is that Minene had an unfairly happy ending. I love happy endings and all, but she was the only survivor of the 1st and 2nd world that actually ended up alive and happy. Everyone else is dead / miserable...

People bitch about the hammer because we're supposed to buy that First world Yuno more or less takes over the mind of third world Yuno (yeah, because trying to kill her wasn't bad enough), lived thousands of years and connects the Third World and the Second World somehow just to get her forever and ever with Kami!Yukiteru. And it all happenned out of nowhere in a extremely small "epilogue".

This is one of those animes that when you watch it more and more you understand everything. But to be honest, I thought the ending was beautiful. and I would watch it again.

Yeah I dunno, it's great that the 3rd world people all got happy endings though, since they really needed it after their 2nd world counterparts got all fucked up.

This was an awesome anime. @ The people complaining about the ending being illogical: because a survival game with future diaries involving killing each other to become a god is so logical.

I give it a 9/10.

FINALLY it ended, I swear these last 4 episode would not end (shouldn't have marathoned I guess). It was not a bad ending, but then again it was not a very good series LOL. Everything was so incoherent and all over the fucking place! No realism whatsoever, and the thrilling sense of mystery in the first half became a messy action-oriented supernatural drama in the second one, and don't get me started on the characters... Besides all that, this series can still be highly enjoyable if the logical part of the brain is turned off. There were some pretty amusing scenes, fast-paced action and some bad-ass moments.

I liked it. They played the ending safe and kept it ambiguous, because from what I heard, the manga continues that little trail at the ending and goes straight for deus ex machina (which would've totally ruined the experience for me.)

Best of all I enjoyed it. In shonen shows, as long as I had fun, and the plot feels solid, that's more than enough for me to recommend it.

I really liked this anime until the last 3 episodes, which I felt took the series into a completely silly direction. A while ago I read the beginning of the manga (up until the school bombing) but forgot about it and lost interest. This time I waited for the entire show to be out before watching, and after finishing I can't help but feel pretty let down by the events from episodes 23-26.

Honestly I felt as though that could have been done way better without needing to go into such convoluted and far out direction. With the battle between 9th and Murmur being some DBZ level stuff that really wasn't needed. The concepts of Yuno killing her past self and murmur imprisoning past self were fine and needed for the story, however the whole three worlds thing was not necessary. It could have easily been one world with them simply changing the past and altering the events of that world rather than following along the lines of a new one.

All in all, it's a great anime ruined by a end of events plot (to me) so I give it 7.5/10.

So... At the end of the credits the phone's message changed from "Yuno Died" to "Yuno Came to See Me".

That means Yuki isn't alone in with MurMur anymore?

I read the last pages of the Manga, I really don't think Anime Yuki deserves a "Happy End"..

Maybe I'll pretend like I didn't see the end credit message.

Im sad this anime is over i really enjoyed it but as for the ending im not sure how i feel about it, it was kinda happy but also depressing at the same time. Even though everyone in the 3rd world ended up happy their not the people we watched during the show and everyone from the 2nd world is still dead, i hate when they make everything the characters went through mean nothing at the end not to mention yuki and yuno dont even end up together in the 3rd world, i also want to know why deus was ok and there was no game in the 3rd world.

Im a bit confused over the end when yuki's diary changes and yuno is coming, how did that happen? did 2nd world yuno defy death and revive herself? she was already a god after all so i dont know how she died in the first place, or was it the 3rd world yuno that somehow remembered and broke over to yuki which i think would be a bit much cause his relationship was with 2nd world yuno.

Im guessing there is going to be some sort of second season given the way it ended and the next project preview, i hope they show a bit more of what happens when yuno comes back even if they are not the main characters anymore.

On a side note did anyone else notice uryu's floating god baby? lol id also like my own murmur keychain!

Overall aside from a few flaws and yuki being annoying sometimes this was a great anime. i give this a high 9/10

Oh man, what an emotional ending. I started to cry when Yuno was talking to her 3rd world self, and I kept crying until the end pretty much! (I had to pause after Yuno stabbed herself because I was sobbing.)

I liked the ending, though I wish I hadn't read about the manga. : I was thinking that somehow, since 1st Yuno was a god, her soul was somehow able to find Yuukii after a long time. I feel sad now that I know she died and never got a happy ending, and Yuukki is with another Yuno.

But for my own happiness, I like to think that when someone in Mirai Nikki dies, their consciousness gets transferred and they become a part of their past selves in another timeline (though they lose their memories of their own timeline). This is the reason why people's souls can't be brought back by a god - because they've already moved on to another timeline. So since 1st world Yuno died, her consciousness got transferred to 3rd world Yuno and they mixed. 3rd world Yuno has a vague recollection that something was missing for her life because 1st world Yuno became a part of her. Murmur was able to draw those dormant memories out of her and the memories of the two Yunos blended. I know this isnt' exactly like the canon explanation but it makes me feel better. It would make all of the 2nd world characters get a somewhat happy ending. (Since Yuukki 2 never died, he and Yuukki 3 stayed separate entities.)

I like the explanation of the souls even though there is no evidence besides 3rd world yuno feeling like something important missing. I found the ending to be extremely sad even though the third world all worked out fine in the end. I mean, the whole story takes place in the 2nd world and that world ending up being crap with Yuki being all emo.

10,000 years? Man, you would think he would have been over it by then. A little bitch to the end it seems. I didn't like Yuki through the whole series. I was so frustrated with him whenever shit went down and he would just sit there and cry. His love for Yuno near the end was admirable but, other than that, he was annoying to watch.

As for the ending, I teared up a little when Yuno stabbed herself. I also teared a bit whenever she was telling Murmur about where he was in the school. The entries of "Yukki's in trouble, I have to help him" and the like would show that Yuno was lying to herself about her feelings.

The last entry change was kind of a surprise. It seems that Yuno from the first world pays a visit to Yuki and they get back together again. Wonder how that is even possible and the only Yuno that would visit him would be the one that died in the third world. She is dead and she isn't coming back and even if she was coming back to visit him, why did it take 10,000 years?

I doubt there will be a second season of this. At most, I see a cameo appearance of Yuki and Yuno in other projects since Yuki has yet to make a new world. Only time will tell.

I really enjoyed the series for it wouldn't let me go until the very end. I want to give it a 9, but I'll probably end up giving it an 8. The main plot didn't seem to pick up till near the end. As usual, things felt a little rushed second half, but all in all, an enjoyable and memorable series.

I would recommend this. Yuno forever!

At least I am positively surprised they didn't choose the Hammer Ending, that would have been pretty stupid. =D

Well, the show had a premise that had me betting it would turn into a 10. But then they butchered the entire 2nd half of the story with....a lot of stupid things. I feel sorry that so much potential has gone to waste. I really wanted this to be awesome. =(

Oh well, it was still enjoyable, I suppose. =)

Loved the series overall, I give it 9/10.

However, things I didn't like about the ending :

- 2nd world Yuki doing nothing for 10 000 years...
- 3rd Yuki with that other girl instead of Yuno ):

At least Yuno of the 3rd world is sane.

Revising my note to 10/10; I didn't notice the part after the credits at the end, this made me smile. :)

The series is definitely better than most but it has that rushed ending syndrome. Some of the stuff is just nonsensical (dragon ball fight complete with super saiyan toddler) and I'm kinda not convinced that blowing up a middle school will prevent this secret war that might cause some kind of space/time collapse. Although it does patch things up for all the other keepers it kinda just screwed the main characters. Dudeguy got screwed pretty hard and not just ambiguously either (not counting the after credits bullcrap) and Yuno 3 will have to wait until Yuki finds out that glasses girl either cheats on him, has aids, has a penis, or any combination of those things.

Great series though, weird at times but engaging mostly.

I think this anime was freakishly amazing and almost perfect. It is a master piece and I hope I watch other anime that have similar plots that are even near being on par with this one. I don't see why everyone is complaining about the ending, the entire anime was excellent, and the last manga chapter made it even better. I suggest reading it, who cares if she used a hammer, the point is that... well I don't want to spoil it, but it was a good closure to a superb anime that I will remember forever. 10/10

Uh, if 9th was alive how could they declare a winner? And what was that future being changed 10K years after the end of the show? At least everyone in world 3 and 9th had good endings but yeah this show was fun, hella stupid and sometimes legitimately disturbing. Definitely felt like Deathnote to the nth degree. Wonder what the next project is since the manga is also completed.

I liked the last episode, for the first time I actually felt for the characters as their reactions seemed more real and not as exaggerated as throughout the series. The ending definitely had a bittersweet feel to it as the first Yuno died and Yuki spent a long time in an empty world. Because people were talking about the manga ending I had to check that too and the Hammer Ending was funny in a B movie way.

All in all I'm not sure how to rate this series. Of course a fantasy like this isn't supposed to be realistic but I think a lot of people still expect it to be psychologically somewhat realistic. Which this series wasn't at all. That lack of realism also made it difficult to relate to the characters or feel for them, what we got instead was lots of shonen action which was for the most part enjoyable, logic doesn't matter here. It wasn't a masterpiece by any means, rather it felt like watching an action movie that is by no means high art but it's still fun to watch. Except that action movies rarely have such pathetic male leads.

I read the last 2 chapters of the manga, expecting to see a lame, alternate ending, but it turned out to be similar. The ending of the anime made the series goood. I was one of the viewers that cried during the final eps and gave the series a 9/10.

-I don't know where to begin and the replies on this forum is 18 pages (tldr), but I was wondering, how can Yukki of the 2nd world become a god when 2nd world Minene is still alive? And, for the manga ending, and implication in the anime, how come it took 10,000 years?? Is it just me or were there some serious use of loopholes going on?

I'm not 100% sure but maybe it's because Minene is living in the 3rd world, and something about the 2nd and 3rd worlds being disconnected or something like that.

the 10,000 years thing I'm not even sure... the best case scenario being that time goes faster in the 2nd world

Manga and anime both end the same, only on the manga they show it

If you watch the anime closely at the last minute of the last episode you will see that the diary changes in : Yuno came to see me and then you see light from the upper right corner.

In other words the manga really shows it but they both end the same.

Story 9/10 I just like this kind of anime's they're all unique
