I thought the scripting was pretty clever, particularly when Joker was talking to Batman about what happened to Harvey Dent. I can't recall the exact words, but it was something about how he required only a push into madness. I thought his mental break was mostly believable, but it was less believable that he would let Joker go considering what Joker did.

Probably one of the best movies i've seen.
Also had a huge amount of political commentary, almost humoring at times

I think they could have went much further with the ideas behind the Joker's line about how if he says "gangbangers or soldiers are about to die, no one panics" but I guess the movie would have gone too political. At the end of the day, its a movie about a man dressed as a Bat. We should be thankful Nolan put any kind of subtext in the movie at all! The post 9/11 vibe is palpable all throughout the movie.

There's no way The Dark Knight is better than any of those movies, except for maybe Empire Strikes Back.

Its just like Code Geass R2 shooting up into MAL's top 10 overnight.

Except Dark Knight most definitely is better than R2...

A little fight in you. I dont like that.

edit: anyone else disappointed some bits in the trailer didnt make the final cut of the movie? Like the way the joker fires a bazooka in the trailer was kinda hilarious, but it didnt make the cut. :(

Ok, go look at the full trailer. Notice that shot where the Joker fires a bazooka and kind of slips backwards like a clown? Not in the movie. They use a different cut. Just little things like that. I think even the shot in the trailer where the Joker's in the street and says "hit me!" is different in the movie.

i don't know about the bazooka, but that 'hit me!' part looks different. but it's quite common that they use different shots or even drop it for the final cut. like in the case of hancock

Taken from the review I wrote in my LiveJournal:

"Dark Knight was absolutely amazing. It was profound, touching, exciting, unpredictable, and the portrayals of Gordon, Batman, and Joker have exceeded expectations and raised the bar. Heath Ledger did an astounding job playing my favorite villain of all time and Christian Bale fixed all but one of the issues I had with him as Batman. It's a must-see, if not the best movie I've ever seen in my life."

Decent movie was decent, nowhere near epic win. I'll bet my HDD and left testicle that if Heath Ledger is still alive, this movie would not get 5 star ratings.

I saw the movie twice; the first time in IMAX, the second time at my local theater. I was able to understand the story more when I saw it the second time. After the 2nd time, my friend, my sister, and I kept making fun of Aaron Eckhart's (Harvey Dent/Two-Face) chin XD.

This movie awakened the Batman fan within me. I even have the first 28 episodes of Batman: the Animated Series on DVD (it was actually a b-day gift I got from my friend on the day we saw the movie in IMAX). It's seriously one of the best cartoons I've ever seen.

And speaking of "seriously", Heath Ledger stole the movie! I relished every scene he was in. He was just brilliant. I hope he gets a posthumous Oscar for playing the Joker.

I thought the Dark Knight was one of the best movies I've seen. Heath Ledger did an awesome performance by keeping the Joker in that twisted and sick yet funny personality. That and i think the line "Why So Serious?" will become a famous movie quote, thats just my opinion though......
