I really like Shu and Souta scene.. Shu is really mature now.
I just laughed when Souta pulled his hand repeatedly when Shu tried to shake hands with him hahaha.
Overall a decent episode, can't wait for next ep. More action please ><

I don't see how they can't go for a second season here to deal with the whole Daath issue, unless they intend on leaving major plotholes and rush everything at once in two episodes... which is very likely.
WELL! If we take into consideration the popularity and sales of the 2 Vols, it might be possible. I hear it is going well and in terms of some products, they outline Shu in the future with Inori so chances are there will be a season 2 with Shu and Inori being the sole characters from last season with perhaps some other ones.

The whole Daath issue got me a little confused as to "how the heck?" did he even come in contact with Kuruso/Keido at all? He like popped out of nowhere. We need a flashback from his point of view of WTF did he go through to come to them suddenly.

WTF did you get that info from? According to the spoiler
she was fucking Kuruso. So why bother stating that?

I will never EVER ever forget the following face of Mana,

while she is holding Kurosu's hand while he cries and Shu's mother is dead. What a fucked up face and creepy at that.

A couple of Quick thoughts.

I enjoyed the Haruka/Shu scenes. While I enjoyed the stuff from episodes 7 & 8, her glomping him and running around half dressed. They really came across as a Mother and Son in this episode.

Shu and Souta making up. I enjoyed that as well. Maybe it was a little forced, but it was in keeping with Shu's character and the maturity he's grown into these past couple of episodes.

The Flashbacks. Finally we get some much needed backstory. It drew most of the loose threads and plots together and tried to make sense of them. The story now makes more sense then it did.

Shu's Mom was hot. Kurosu, you lucky Dog, you. Haruka and Her. Have to wonder what her being so far advanced with the Virus, did to Shu, while he was in her womb.

Anyone find it funny that Daath Boy, meets with Kurosu and Keido in the same place that Shu meets Inori for the first time?

Mana, Ooooooh Booooy. We thought she was messed up in episode 12. Now we find out that Mana wanted Shu from before he was Born. (Shudders)

Keido. What to say about him? Jealous, envious and other things. For all of his intelicual superiority, he falls short of Kurosu. Both professionally and personally. Kurosu had a wife, children and even remarried, to Haruka, all the while researching the Virus. And he makes the breakthrough before Keido.

Again various elements are rushed and or not adequetely explained. But this was one of the best episodes of the series. Not for the Action, there is none, but for the development of the story. for the Long over due explainations and backstory.

What do you think?
Summoning Dark: "What kind of human creates his own policeman?"

Watcman: "One who fears the dark."

"And so he should," said the enity, with satisfaction.

"Indeed. But I think you misunderstand. I am not here to keep the darkness out. I'm here to keep it in." There was a clink of metal as the shadowy watchman lifted a dark lantern and opened it's little door. Orange light cut through the blackness. "Call me . . . the Guarding Dark. Imagine how strong I must be."

Okay after watching the episode a couple times I think i'm starting to understand things a bit more. There are a few things I don't understand though, like since Yuu told Kurosu and Keido about how Mana will be the new Eve and how Shu will be her new Adam and how a Apocalypse will happen, why didn't Kurosu do anything to stop it? Did he not care or something? Was he all for the new race with his genes?

Also what was Gai's goal then and what is Gai's goal now? He said it's always been the same but I don't quite get that since it was achieved in ep 12. I wonder what He and Mana are gonna do now that she's back. Is he the new Adam now? The whole Adam, Eve, fate of the "King", and void genome stuff is so confusing now. This episode answered some questions then made a billion new ones.

Wait how did Shibungi get on the boat?

Thats what I don't understand. If Gai was evil all along why did he let Shu kill him? Wouldn't it be easier for him on episode 12 of he just teamed up with Daath and Keido? He had plenty of chances to take Shu's void genome before his death. Shit, why am I even trying to make sense out of this sorry excuse for a plot....

i now understand the funeral parlor etc. everything is according to the plan of keido, gai, yuu and the daath, they just used shu to collect the voids or shard of mana, i remember in episode 2 Gai said that the stolen void genome is for him to use but i doubt it because if Gai will inject that void genome to him theres a big possibility that the void genome will reject his genes. Shu was choosen to be the destined king(adam) even before he was born by mana or the virus who infected mana. but shu's father reject the proposal of daath so that they try to make a fake king to partner to mana by expermenting to those children including gai. but the daath and keido forgot something to be the true king is all about genes and only Shu has a genes of the true king, even segai notice it when he see the power of gai, the power of Gai is not right. the evidence of the chosen true king is the pillar of light that can break even the heaven that only manifested to Shu, in other words Gai and yuu is a fake and wanna be king only.

Shu the True King Vs. Gai the wanna be King
-Void power is Infinite | -Void Power Probably 1,800
-He Has the genes of true king | -Experimental king only, Fake King

in the end i believe inori/mana will screw keido and gai, she has no choice but to choose the true king.

Haha I think the general idea of the show is awesome; a boy with the power to extract and materialize peoples "hearts" and use them as weapons to fight at the cost of their life if their "heart" breaks. Unfortunately yes the plot is indeed lacking and wish they would of taken another year or something to clean up this plot (or make a new one)

Maybe Gai tried to stop Keido because he wanted to be "Adam." Or maybe the new clone Gai isn't actually how the real Gai is and he is actually being controlled somehow. Idk Gai was a mysterious character then and even more now. I don't see how they can wrap this up in two episodes. Either rush ending or second season. I would not mind a second season at all. Even though I pull out hairs trying to make sense of each episode, I always end up enjoying it.

This is one thought as well, that Mana would betray all of them and then do something to shake Shu's trust to try and convert him over to her.

I'm not sure if someone else pointed this out already, but Kurosu sure made an awkward cure to the Apocalypse Virus. I mean it only works on people U-17!

Didn't know the void powers = cure. Am I missing something?
Wasn't the Void Genome supposed to be some anti-Apocalypse virus measure? Too lazy to will myself to find the narration when Haruka left the church to meet with Doctor Ouma.

Yes. I believe what they are basically trying to say is the Apocalyptic Virus makes the heart exteriorize and materialize. So a person with the Void genome can extract someones heart (void) and I guess stop the virus. That's what I think they were trying to say.

If the basis of this is true, then it goes back to what Gai and Shu said in episode 12 about finding Mana's heart in order to stop her, or something to that extent.

Incest rape face.
What really looks like a Incest rape face is the following,

The reason for that is in the spoiler
notice she does it after she touched Shu’s mother stomach when he was in womb? She already raped him. It’s called WOMB RAPE and it was done before in anime. Not at this level of creepiness. FOLKS! We have a new level in sick shit with that term “Womb rape” she freaking infused shit into Shu already as he was in the womb moreover I suspect Mana to have infected her own mother under the virus influences. Effectively perceiving mother as a threat due to the complex known well towards the mother being competition in the incest relation. Thus Mana fully in control of the virus being infected by it, decided to kill off the mother the moment she gave birth to Shu.

OMG how the Fuck can she do the following in the spoiler
to her own mother? Infecting her in order to eliminate her due to incestuous competition from the very start at the moment of the birth to cruelly not have Shu even remember her? OMG that the cruelest shit ever.

There is more! Notice the kids in the spoiler
being fucking used as guinea pigs? Notice that the same shit was done in Railgun at the end of the season? Notice how much RAGE it makes me RAGE out quietly. That’s it! Those guys along with their piece of shit ass research using means as testing shit on kids to an end of advancing their science is fuck all. Shame on them!

Finally as much as Mana is crazy, I kind of wanted in the following,

Due to her appearance to like her due to her sexy pose but sorry after finding out the whole mother incident.

Ideally I think the rock being from space could be a life form itself that reprogram the person to find a host that is compatible and make them reproduce with that host. Afterward host is most likely dead, fused together with original or at worst changed into something else to further produce offspring with the original. Scary shit? Very scary but that’s the thing the imagination is wild! Crazy!Cause it can be interpreted in too many ways with the vague flow of this series.

What do you think of all this?

Looking at all the unanswered questions there sure is potential for a second season. In fact, there are many good ways as to how to execute the ending. For example they could make Shu kill Gai and Keido (Yu not yet since he will be needed for the second season) and just when he's about to reach and save Inori, she turns full Mana, rejects him and heralds the start of the next apocalypse. What will he do? Try to reach Inori knowing that she must be somewhere in there? And what about Yu and Daath? How will he deal with that new danger?
As you can see that could be a pretty good second season.

I got an ideal of who Yuu is working for. The Vatican? Or some Secret Super Power Organization PRO religious since he infers of them as Daath which is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Da%27at_(Kabbalah)
pretty much.

So all in all, what we had in all this season may well be a Theater of Operations from Daath being Japan itself or just plain a Test ground most appropriate to study the virus in its natural state. Assuming Japan being the most infected with it.

So all in all, S2 can bring in light the real high ups behind this with Yuu and perhaps putting an end to them may reveal what is needed to know to stop all of this.

Meh :/ thoughts going in brain. What do you think.

That was actually a good and heavily information-filled episode that resolves some plot holes of the series. Interesting to say the least even though we're now definitely in presence of an Akira-like script with slight alien interferences (the comet and Daaht part is kinda disturbing and doesn't particularly serve the script, but well...).

They didn't show Yuu activate his powers or anything. If I remember correctly Yuu knocked Keido out then walked away.

This Yuu guy is still a complete mystery all we know is he wants to spread the virus and he has the power to teleport himself and has the kings power. Yuu needs his own OVA "The Melancoly of Yuu "Daath the gravekeeper"'

actually, Inori's origin is pretty obvious by now. She was most likely created by Keido as an Eve subject(the same way Gai was created as an "Adam" prototype) to serve as a new body from Mana since she pretty much fucked her last one much.
Keido himself states this on Episode 12.

And btw, Gai was "good" -his goal was still to be able to reach Mana tough- before dying possibly because he lost his memories after washing up in the beach.

So now the only major mystery is who the hell Daath/Yuu is.

And how Gai got resurrected (if he did die) and consequently why the change of heart, why he can see what Voids people have, etc.

Kurosu's diary on the Void Genome still doesn't make sense to me. Though I kinda stopped trying to make sense of this mess already.

It's also pretty bad about the Mana bit where her parts were scattered to people's Voids and Shu just collected them, conveniently all/mostly in the high school students? And how exactly do you collect her "shards" anyway? Destroying them? Simply materializing them by Shu?

I'm not sure about a few of the questions but back in Ep 17 or w/e one Gai cut off Shu's arm, it shows Yu saying to a certain hidden someone "good job on collecting the fragments" and pulls out a hidden void.

If you've noticed Gai's right eye the past episodes, it's 'different'. Robotic maybe? That's probably why he can see the voids.

Wait how did Shibungi get on the boat?

kurosu did care though, didn't you see him devoting himself to the research to stop the apocolyse virus, he forgot to eat and drink and never left his lab in order to find a way to stop the virus, and he succeeded he created the void genome which can supposedly isolate the virus, (still not too sure about it), he probably was gonna work more on it so that it can become a cure so that they could extract the virus from mana so she wouldn't be infected anymore and thus stopping the new Apocalypse but keido killed him before he could do it

i liked what kurosu said about how wisdom and scientific knowledge can prevent the inevitable or "the hand of God" as keido would call it because the Apocalypse and the new adam and eve were seen as Gods Judgement and inevitable

ugh im starting to become slightly confused myself i think ill watch the episode again and get a better idea of it and explain it a bit more
