THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The girls (even Sora) warm up to Raika and everything seems to be going well, until the land lady shows and tells them they have a month to move out (he violated the contract by having too many people living in the apartment).

Should get interesting from here on out.

This episode was good in terms family gathering of Yuuta’s friends to his place and I even was surprised Sako of all people was able to get in. Oh how creepy yet MOE he imagined Miu and all. With the marriage tuxedo and red roses. There was only one thing to feel like about him in the following,

Nothing more. He did pan out good comedy but in the long run I would not trust him less Miu/Sora would have a tazer.

About the fan service, oh this is just the start of a little bitching from me. From the list,
  • Now OK the breast play of Miko being tied onto the poll in the spoiler

  • Now the bath part in the spoiler

This is not good, I am totally bewildered at the heavier tones so to speak. I am pretty good at noticing that. Suffice to say that Hina’s should stay censored and perhaps Miu too but I can let Sora/Miu slide out in tolerance. God forbid any details on Hina of ecchi tones. Aside from that I see nothing more than Sora’s examination of Raika’s breasts for her own self-esteem and I guess skinship to a extent. I really don’t like the heavier tones implied of ecchi around this episode. Particularly that bath part. It’s becoming dangerously more suggestive.
So suffice to say that for one I will say that Raika has a few points that were nice of her in this episode.

For one bonding nicely with the girls and more particularly with Sora through cooking was splendid. I see Sora has a appreciation to reach a bust of = value to Raika.

Raika developing a relationship with Yuuta while walking with him. Perhaps it’s very low but it looks meaningful mainly in the communication of the facials of the person's feelings.

About preview, HEY HEY! You know what I said about the fan service getting a heavier tone? Well I see some Sora rubbing some breasts behind a curtain and some Hina hiding barely her front with her hair whom looks closer to the manga. I don’t like it. The heavier tone is getting to me and it’s harder to see the better positive values than before.

Let’s see where it goes further in the tone but so far this episode shows more of it. I refer mostly to the underage group. But seriously my feelings to the staff if they want to continue doing a loads of heavy tones like is quite simple in the spoilerdamn right and shame to set higher tones. I will edit this later.

Raika + Bound Miko = Me like a lot

I'm glad Sako was going after Miu for the most part, leave Hina alone, lol at him saying my angel, I know how you feel, Miu is an angel to me as well. Sako did get his just do by Raika though for trying to get fed by Hina.

The bath scene with Raika and Sora was very cute, touching, and had a dash of shoujo-ai, then Hina and Miu joined in which turned into pure fun and cuteness. Too much steam and will have to wait for the BDs to come to see it. The friendship between Raika and Sora is starting to take off. Raika is actually pretty good at cooking.

Sora needs to stop hurting Yuta for every mistake or misunderstanding, stepping on his foot wasn't necessary.

Dammit landlady she evicted them, very heartless for not making exemptions.

I think I'm getting used to the Hina ecchi, probably due to that doujin I read a week ago, the old "I have seen worse" concept has kicked in bigtime.

I'm no lawyer... i know is a pain in the ass when family dies and no will was written. But still as immediate family, wouldn't the girls inherit some money and maybe the house. I know keeping the house would be tough, bills and taxes would be impossible for him to pay. But there is some money on selling and getting a better apartment.
Also the rest of the family seemed to just abandon them. They are really not helping... just checking every now and then to see when he is going to mess up to take the girls away.

Hey no worries spider man is punching already. That is providing good enough. Pretend the guy is Sako. Oh man I still have shiver the creepers of that part. And Japan I am still lingering on that heavy tone.

This episode was really good. Best one yet.

Raika is such a sweetheart xD To hell with the pedo relationship between Yuuta and Sora. I want Yuuta to wind up with Raika.

Oh Pedo prez, why don't you just curl up to a corner and die a slow and horrible death.

Thank God Raika was present with the paper fan, so that the prez got what he deserved.

Oh are you kidding me, Yuuta has enough problems without a landlord bitch. She can go and die together with the fat pedo.

I can't believe that I'm giving one of this show's episodes a 5/5. But what can you do? lol xD

Good episode,Raika-chan!!!

Good to see a lot of Raika this episode, that bondage was nice fanservice....Then she meeting the girls i liked how they do it,even that here they make Sora the center of her affection stead that in the manga was more Hina(kinda predictable but o well). She is showing some more affection to Yuuta, and really liked the bath scene with the girls!!!

Pedodent again creepy...good to have Pedopolice Raika on the case.Even ya....MIU YOU ARE ANGEL!!!!!

Hina as always adorable,Miu just cute and Sora showing jealousy to Rika bigger attributes was cute also loved the scene with the flour.

So evil landlord wants to throw them out.....rules are rules but i think she may help them to get a new house or to stay we will see that next episode.

About all the Ecchi drama around here, one thing is Miu and Sora fanservice that is acceptable and even nice...OTHER thing is Hina fansevice that even that for me is not fansevice there is people that find it to much and i agree in that point ,so lets hope they dont close that line for the good of the series since it may drive away some people of this great show.
THIS COMMENT IS APPROVE BY RAIKA

Btw Hina can i have a bite of that Popsicle???

Nobody force you to buy bds, you can stay with the holy fog tv version for what i care. :)

This episode is an improvement since i like more the manga an the source material for what it is, the more they stay close to the novel the better indeed. The fog is annoy and always exagerate for a innocent bath scene but whatever. Good job this time.

Good episode overall, love Raika antics.

Can't really look at things from Yuuta's point only Landlords have to keep within the contract. If the rule is broken for one person then that means it can be broken for all. However i hope that she helps out in some form or another

Basically this. Personally I'm all 'me gusta mucho' at the fanservice if it contains any of the three lolis. I like being serviced =) Raika is nice, but she is overequipped, sadly.

Btw, what's with the prez-hate? He didn't do anything apart from drooling (mentally) at the lolis - the same thing I do. Only I don't get smacked by Raika for it.
SO, I'm with the prez, and together we will stand against the tides of hate *heroic pose with lightning in the background and wind blowing up my cape*

Cute episode btw. I loved how Sora was all OMG A RIVAL APPEARED at Raika while Raika was struck by Sora's moe~ness. Did anyone else notice how Raika was totally 100% pedo for Sora? But since she's a girl (and more subtle) she gets away with it.

Basically, Yuuta created a schism in the family when he decided to take in the girls, and the Takanashi family decided not to give him any support. The situation is a lot more explicitly laid out in the light novels, where it's a major plot point that gets resolved in the first volume.

Fair enough but I still think it will get heavier and I just don't agree with that. The tone was fine before now it get heavier it looks to me over the brim that spills the water so to speak. Ever since I just saw Vol 2 Haganai BD and it was uncensored.

I didn't really see much of a issue with this episode in regards to loli ecchi - and i am sensitive to the subject also. That part of the bath scene was roughly 5 seconds long, personally just felt it reinforced Raika's bonding with all the girls. If the ecchi gets heavier than that, or is thrown in alot more often we may have a issue.. But thus far really hasn't been any problems.

Was a good episode all in all, wonder how Yuuta's gonna rebound and stabilize off this, i don't really see a whole hella lot of options - hopefully his family helps somewhat or he'll have to work hardcore and drop college..

Maybe it's me being anti-ecchi Hina and with what in the spoiler
she was exposed and was not like that before got on my nerves fast and all. You still can't deny it's going more than before even if it's nothing. Add to that the fog in the spoiler
that looks to me like something to uncensor there.

You also have to take the following in the spoiler
from the preview that seems to show more of that. So I really hope it does not go over your brim because it looks to me like they using the "Latter Volume Max Profit" way. That would be guarantee a good sale on Vol 4, 5, 6.

Well I won't say more than if it brings S2 so be it but it's just plain sad it has to be done like that and like Haganai is being done now. It's also about knowing ahead what are the possibilities due to the censors. I say Hina might get something out in the BDs and I don't like the sound of it at all.

Seems like there are some real crazy people watching this... There is in no way possible for something to have "too much" ecchi-loli.
I mean come on, how can someone decide to watch a show like this with that mindset^^

But if hypocrite false morals make them sleep at night it's their right, just as we loli lovers should be able to enjoy the delicious cake without hindrance (^.^)

Personally I just feel bad for Yuuta, due to him being forced to go to work and miss such an epic event happening in his own bathroom.. poor guy.

Honestly, I don't believe this is an "Ecchi show", I see it as a slice of life with a few fanservice scenes.

I certainly don't believe they do fanservice for Hina, for Sora they do, ABSOLUTELY, but they've kept it innocent with Hina.

For me there's LOLI and then there's TODDLER, I don't have a problem with loli, to a certain extent though.

I don't want to see loli sex or anything to crazy, a few fanservice shots of Miu is fine with me, as for Sora I'm fine with anything.

As for Hina, I don't really want any fanservice of her, she's not a Loli, she's a toddler, HUGE difference in my opinion.

Nah she does not have the typical "round" toddler body type imho.
More or less a shorter version of your typicall loli =)

What really annoys me is when people are willing to accept something, but whit one slight alteration it becomes "outrageous" in their eyes.
A quick example of what I'm trying to say: It's pretty much acceptable to joke about Jew, Christians, Muslims or foreigners in general but if it's about black people it suddenly becomes racist.

I'd say this is exactly the same situation, oh no we are perfectly fine with Sora, and Miu (both of which would be considered under aged in developed countries) but a scene with Hina covered in nothing but her own hair.. Unacceptable!

You see what I'm getting at?

really?!
ok this loli stuff is disturbing for me at it's own (in all 3 versions)
and they will give more of it?!
but it's a nice exercise to think what made producers to put those parts into nice slice of life story with some decent drama

I really don't get the outrage about Hina being shown naked. And people calling that fanservice? Why would you consider it fanservice in the first place? Unless you are a pedo OR you consider the anime's fans pedos. It's just a naked 3yo running around and having a bath. It's PERFECTLY okay for a child that age to be naked. And for people to see it in that state. Pedohysteria is blurring your reason, people!

I'm really loving the show. Raika's monotone voice is so cool :) If only she didn't have such huge breasts... Miu-chan is my favorite, I'm not really fond of Sora, too much tsun for me. I like honest characters who can talk about their emotions and are a little more forward.

I'm guessing that the landlord is just lonely, has no family and got jealous of Yuuta's and his girls's happiness. I hope they'll manage to convince her to let them stay.

Indeed. if not resolved he still deserves a chance to explain himself, maybe reach an agreement, but no, she right down evicted them, that's plain mean.

About Raika, yeah, she's "the shit". She's now my favorite character in the show.

It sucks, though it's somehow not surprising. They probably won't give Yuuta money if they don't trust he'll use it responsibly. The fast, though mean way (especially for the girls) is to leave them on their own and wait for him to collapse and either abandon the girls or beg the family to take care of them as they had initially suggested.

Of course, this situation might have been averted if Yuuta hadn't gone rebel and instead tried to negotiate with the family. What's with all the unagreeable people that won't try talking things down?

Also, there's probably no will, so the girls would need a lawyer to keep/sell the house. Families can turn nasty when there's money on the table...

(Edit: and now I realized I just paraphrased what you said XD ... well, let's just say I agree with your points.)

Anyway, I'm liking that this is taking a realistic approach, though now I wonder how the hell will they make it through this mess.

Well thanks to the crappy Landlord the problems got even worse; i was wondering how he was going to be able to handle the situation; coming from a college student i couldn't see how it was possible; because many know the difficulties that come from being independent and living alone, but to do that while taking care of three others is a lot to ask and that stupid landlord just made it worse. Hopefully they address the school thing soon, because i could imagine the next episode will be addressing where they live next (of if the stupid landlord grows a conscience and they don't get evicted at all) so the episodes following should focus on school.

For real; its like she hated the idea of a fun atmosphere, when ever there was cheerful noises they would zoom in on her watching..

Was there even a point in his character to begin with? Honestly why was he even aloud to visit at all,Yuuta could have just invited Raika without inviting the pedo.

Gosh, difficult episode. I was alternating smiling and frowning the entire time.

Interesting, and reasonable. discussions regarding "fanservice". I'm not going to take a stand one way or another here. My problem is I'm to biased. I see Yuuta, Sora, Miu and Hina through rose colored glasses - the close, loving family I never had growing up, never seemed to have when I was married, and certainly don't have now that I'm not. Probably why I've taken such a liking to shows like this since discovering them a couple of years ago. To me the 'fanservice' is in the noise compared to my worries about Sako's intentions (and, let's be fair, maybe even Raika's also, but I really think her intentions are far different) and the crisis Yuuta now faces regarding housing, never mind the pile of other issues the four of them face if they want to stay together as a family. I'm to concerned about what the less than helpful relatives will do when they find out they are being evicted to spare time regarding a 3 year old's bare butt or a 14 year old doing what most 14 year old's do when they see a naked adult and comparing - I'll let others worry about that ;) Maybe it might cross a line for me later, but not yet. I can't give a rational reason one way or another as to how or why.

Oh, for what it's worth, Sora never once slapped Yuuta this episode. Sure, she stepped on his foot, but he deserved that one.

Hina: What game are Uncles and the others playing?
Miu: That's not a game. It's a battlefield of sorts.

Maybe she doesn't like the noise, or even interferes with her job. Whatever the case, I'm sure those girls could keep it down or go play at a park instead if asked to, no need to boot them out.

I forgot to mention how much that garbage creeps me out... calling a 14 yo a grandma? too old for him? he really gives me the willies even though it's just a fictional character, I too hope we don't see much of him.

If she gives in with one rule then the rest of the complex will run her over with pleas for exceptions to other rules. Her hands are kind of tied. She gave him time even.

I thought it was funny. Well, what else could you expect from such a pedobear like Sako, if not "TOO OLD. DO NOT WANT"?

He's just a caricature of a pedo. And he's absolutely harmless.

Raika is by far the best character in this show. She's just awesome. She's the kind of character I like the most. I hope to see more of her in the remaining episodes.

You and me both :)

Overall another good episode, though landlord sets the tone for the next episode :/, though it's understandable in her situation.

Sako needs to go asap -.-.

Hopefully if worse comes to worse Raika could let them stay with her as they already like her, but I don't know what the novel progression is.

Least this anime is realistic, with the costs and everything with the jobs at night.

Though really wish they would tone down the fanservice it's just unnecessary :/

Does anyone think that they might release a uncensored version of this anime when they make the DvD if they do.

Raika was so awesome in this episode. I'm glad that she made an immediate connection to the girls. She was so nice to them, and the girls shows an immediate liking to Raika - well, Miu and Hina did; Sora not so much. But again it's that tsundere nature of hers that prevail, and even a smidge of jealousy to boot. I did find it funny that Raika developed a little "crush" on Sora with her cuteness and all, and she was willing to teach her how to cook. I do feel that Raika could become a great mother figure to the girls; hopefully she and Yuuta can developed a good relationship down the road.

As for Sako, I though his behavior was more tame that it was in the past. At least he was lusting over Miu and leaving Hina alone for the most part (and to Miu's credit, she pretty much brushed him aside). But to call 14-year-old Sora a "grandma" was both funny and disturbing at the same time. Moreso disturbing in my view - that shows what a sick and twisted mind this man possesses.

As for the Hina fanservice, personally I'm not bothered by it that much. I view it more as 3-year-old innocence than anything dirty or perverted. But I do agree that it's beginning to become too heavy, and the creators are walking a very fine line with this level of fanservice.

As for the twist at the end with the landlady, in a way I don't blame her for giving Yuuta the eviction warning because if Yuuta did violate the clause on his lease to the apartment, the landlord has every right to evict the tenant for breech of contract. Yuuta's apartment is about the same size as mine, and most studio apartments are only desinged for one person to live in from what I know. I think Yuuta was living dangerously if he didn't notify his landlord that he was taking in three more people. Hopefully this situation will get resolved next week, on top of the next problem facing the family - finding a daycare for Hina once school starts.

Can't believe Yuuta actually invited the pedo to his house. I guess he doesn't know what we know? At least Raika prevented him from trying anything funny. And calling a 14-year old "grandma"? Wth man.

And then we see that Raika likes cute girls.

Life gets harder for them though, because they have to deal with school. And not only that, but the landlady came at the worst possible time and piles on the difficulties! I bet she's proud of herself for making life harder for three poor, orphaned girls...

Actually the pedo invited himself. I'm pretty sure Yuuta said No when Sako asked if he was invited.

The girls (even Sora) warm up to Raika and everything seems to be going well, until the land lady shows and tells them they have a month to move out (he violated the contract by having too many people living in the apartment).

Should get interesting from here on out.

I agree. The fact that they're seeing Raika as a sister figure may ease Sora off liking Yuuta a bit - or at least get it cemented enough that she can't have a real love relationship with her uncle. However, the whole jealousy bit she plays is a fun part of her character nonetheless.

I'm happy the President didn't get that much screen time. As long as they don't center the episode on him, I'm pleased. In fact, I think this episode could have been a lot worse if they expanded on the dinner scene. At least we can count on Raika to tame him so he doesn't go too far (though some may argue that he's already past far lol).

Couldn't have said it better myself. She could have been a little nicer about it, or at least understand the situation a bit more. The fact that she practically evicted them with that harsh tone is almost like firing a single parent in front of his/her own kids. I hope we get to see some change out of her in the next episode.

A lot of apartments in Japan have these rules. I was wondering when he was going to get kicked out as well. :P

Understand the situation? Lol all she knows is someone is breaking a contract agreement by having too many people. She doesn't know anything about his background.
