| ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME! I just want to add this to rant on how fucking bad this piece of shit show is. Never before have I wished the death on another human being real or fake. Itou was the biggest fucking douche bag... No No thats not right the creators of this show are the biggest fucking douche bags of all time. Using Human emotions like the ones portrayed in this show is fucked up. Not only does this despicable piece of shit mother fucker cheat on every goddamn girlfriend he has he even denys the girl that supposedly has his fucking baby. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT BULLSHIT! It was bad enough what he did before hand but these fuckers made him go and do that.... I don't blame the girl for killing him. Not at all. He made one girl go mental and delusional and made another fucking murder him. I marathoned this piece of shit show today and had a whole 12 pack and 4 packs or cigs because of how fucked up and depressing this shit was. The murders were fucked up. The show was fucked up. The creators are fucked up. All of my friends told me not to watch it and I didn't listen to them. WELL Fuck it if I don't not listen to them again. FUCK YOU CREATORS DIE IN A MOTHER FUCKING FIRE YOU HEARTLESS BASTARDS! |

| the ending is great, everythign else about the show makes it one of the worst shows ever made, seriously if they actually made the show good instead of just relying on the ending it could have been great you know what, it should of been how EF was with miyak's story, that would have been the more shocking and heartbreaking way to use that ending, but no, this clever and original ending was wasted on a gigantic stinking turd |

| Join the club :(. This anime makes you feel sick for a while, its like watching one of those beheading/stoning/burning alive videos, you just can't sleep. To make it worse, I watched it just after I had finished Clannad AS, and you know that puts you in a nice place mentally, then this was like the anti-christ of Clannad AS. Luckily, I marathoned a couple of animes straight after, to get over it. |

| I watched the first episode got bored then skipped to the last episode and laughed my ass off. I'm sure I didn't miss much. xD I'm not even going to add it to my list. The deaths were hilarious though both in the anime and game. xD |

| This anime did that on a purpose to make you hate him, litearly every little and single thing about him.. In a way it was just beautiful how they done it, making the anime so good. I can see why people dislike/hate this anime and it's not for them but if you have a good hard think about it they made this in the intention of making you feel the way you did. |

| Yeah this anime made me feel like shit for the rest of the night. But i did like it, because its cool when animes linger in your mind for days after you watch it. But the ending definitely made the show. The text message Sekai sent to Makoto was genius. |

I found the art to be very poor (especially in the last episode) and the music either didn't match the mood of the series at all or was just boring. And while I do believe that the creators/directors set out to get the reaction that the OP had (and they did a damn good job of it) that doesn't make me like the series any more. If someone punched me in the face knowing that it would make me angry, I wouldn't say "Oh wow nice punch! I see that you were trying to break my nose there and you completed your goal. Well executed!" I was pissed off most of the time I watched School Days and the fact that the directors may have made it that way on purpose does not change the fact that I hated it and thought that as such it deserved a low score. |

Unique, yes I would agree with you, but that doesn't necessarily make it good. He said "good" and you didn't. Rather than needed to drum up subjective quibbles just understand his "good" is just as subjective as your boring music claim. Your analogy of getting punched in the face would be more accurate if the punch was delivered in a boxing ring. And after getting hit a boxer complained to the ref that it hurt and stormed out of the ring calling it a barbaric sport. Know what you are getting yourself into otherwise you will end up whining for no good reason while people laugh at you for making a stupid decision. I would argue that the anime was made for the people that bought the VN and that not understanding or being part of the real audience for this type of show is why the scores on MAL are so low. Ignorance is the biggest problem. |

| I was pissed in the beginning till all the asshole-ness started to take place. Then I got to lol'ing. Mental bitches are funny. He got mad laid.. and even in the end he still had two heauxs to choose from. If he went with Sekai then the other girl would have remained mindless and everything would have been cool haha. Seriously though. I loved seeing him get stabbed. Wished there was a suicide thrown in there. Glad all the other girls made it alright. The 3 sluts coming over randomly just to see what the big deal was made me giggle. Best harem ever. Fxck that many girls at and you're bound to have it catch up with you eventually. Dude was only mad that Sekai announced the pregnancy publicly so he couldn't get booty calls anymore. Total sex addict. Question though.. when the athlete girls said they filmed the lounge for themselves and "him".. who was that referring to? O_o |

In your analogy of the boxing ring though, I see myself as more of a spectator who was there to watch the fight, and then in the middle of the match one of the boxers jumped out of the ring and punched me in the face for no reason. It seems to me as if though you are saying that instead of trying to take a neutral, unbiased approach to watching like I do for every other show, I should instead have gone into it knowing that it was going to piss me off at some points? How could I have known that until I actually watched the series though? I understand that the anime was probably made for fans of the eroge, however seeing as how I never have and most likely never will in my life play it, I came into this as a casual viewer and my resulting rating of the series was a reflection as such. I respect other people's views and understand why they might rate it higher than I would, I just so happen to see the series in a negative light. And moreover, if this was supposed to be an adaptation of the eroge, then one should not have to have played the eroge to enjoy the anime. Plenty of people who never read the books still enjoyed the Harry Potter movies. If the anime cannot stand on its own because viewers have not played the eroge, then it is not ignorance causing the low score, but rather the anime itself was just not a successful adaptation (I'm not saying it isn't an accurate adaptation, just not a successful one). |

| Pretty unique anime. I can't say I've seen anything quite like it so far. It's real and yet unreal. I like it, but at the same time it hurts to watch. I can't say I love it, and I can't say I hate it either. I felt pity for most of the characters. I don't think any of them deserved what happened to them; it was just the worst consequences of love and lust. Yes, love is destructive a lot of times. In the end, it made me really reflect on human nature and its follies. I will recommend this to my friends who can take it and it makes for interesting discussions. |
| I don't know what to think about this show... the plot/story itself is actually very good... it's a tragedy with love, lust, hate and vengeful killings at the end. It's just that it's portrayed so crappy by the protagonist! Alright he is an shallow, ignorant, brainless asshole.. And that's fine. Much of the concept wouldn't work otherwise. The problem is that he's unable to see even one of his own traits. The total lack of insight and reflection makes the protagonist as credible as a shounen sidekick from a filler episode randomly appearing to kill the main villain 200 episodes later. I just can't buy it. His dick being the main character and the body sorta loosely attached just tagging along with it would have made more sense than that guy. ahh, so provoked. This could have been a total 10 score. |

One doesn't need to have played the game to enjoy this anime, as you can see from the comments made om this forum or are you going to the people that liked it here must have played the game? It's all about knowing what you are getting yourself into. Especially when the show at hand is as objectionable as School Days. As far as it being successful or not, I see a show that has spawned multiple OVAs, won awards, and sold well for it's time and type of anime it is. Everything I can find about School Days screams success, regardless of the reputation it has on MAL. |

| School Days is awesome simply because it doesnt conform to the cliches that most anime of the genre tend to do. I think too many people are looking for a happy ending in every anime of the type. This anime is great at what it does because you would never suspect it in the first half of the series. I always laugh at the people so easily disturbed by things like this. It's an extreme case granted but I could certainly imagine alot of people reacting the same way in the characters' situation and I give it a thumbs up for that. |

Failed? I thought it worked pretty well. It has a realistic setting and plot that realistically shows what happens when you truly mess up. |
| You knew what you were getting yourself in to.. I never heard of the VN before I started watching it. I knew I gettng myself into some serieus stuff when I started to read some reviews on it.. I didn't 'like' the anime, I didn't like the feeling it was giving me through the series. I just respect the fact that an anime did its job and made me feel as miserable as it intended to do. Why should I hate what I expected? It's not to enjoy. It's like someone is saying to you 'I'm going to do something horrible, and you must tell me how much I went beyond your expectations'. Nothing more, nothing less. |
