is everyone complaining about the animation? Most of the QUALITY faces are those of characters in the distance. And characters in the distance always have QUALITY faces, you just don't see them unless you take a screenshot and zoom it.
Besides, the action is pretty damn awesome so far.

I think episode 1 had the most noticeable QUALITY, though episodes 2 and 3 had their moments.

Butyeah, it's mostly distance shots that look overwhelmingly derp. Close-ups are usually overwhelmingly beautiful.

Mmmm, budget.

Well I just talked to a friend who didn't like it much and he said "I can clearly tell it's targeted at fans of the game. I''m really interested in the franchise and I think it might be pretty cool, I've heard good stuff about it and I like the concepts but I don't think persona 4 anime is the right thing for getting into the franchise".

I couldn't agree more, the anime is pretty much 100% targeted at the game's fanbase. The pacing might be too fast for people who haven't played the game and there are stuff that might be confusing for them. (Social links, persona changing etc.)

For me the animation is hit or miss. It's not that the animation is terrible, but there seems to be a divide from when they are in the normal world to when they are in the shadow world. The normal world has really weird blending issues with color where as in the shadow world is look a bit more crisp.

Another thing is people are actually complaining about the sound, which makes no sense whatsoever.

Yup I kinda agree that it differs from the game's cutscenes but to be honest, I really liked the TV world in the first episode. It just felt perfect.

Given all the dorama surrounding the show in terms of staff and animators, I'll be happy so long as they are making episodes.

At least get to Kanji, dammit.

I think the animation is good, but I just don't like the shading from the mid face area to the bottom area; it seems unnecessary and is quite annoying.

They are mimicking the original art style which has the same kind of coloring. I also thought it was bad there too but I guess they wanted it to be loyal to the original art.
