Well I will edit my post later but,
Alert at the most MOE GIF below,

TBH I have not seen anything like since someone made one of Azusa from K-ON season 1

I was really surprised by the end of the episode as it made me so ROFL it's amazing due to Yune and Oscar with sour plums as follows,

I got so much ROFL once again and for some time. That was further amplified with Claude in the spoiler
oh the laughing was amazing from it.

About the preview, from the looks of Claude writing with Yune here, Yune seems to be teaching him Japanese writing from the sheet of paper that has those symbols. There shall be a nice segment of Yune in the rain and she looks to have a Japanese umbrella. Finally my #2 beauties Camille and Alice to die for with their blue eyes/golden hair in the spoiler
this shall be fun to meet the Blanche family.

So much cute! I actually love this show after only two episodes :"3

Yune and Oscar trying the plums at the end :>
And then Claude's reaction made me laugh.

people are liking this anime only because of Yune? I liked this anime because it teaches me about Japanese life in France, not to mention French life (contradicting) as well~

Yune is so cute and stubborn <3 Claude is pretty awesome too. His reaction to the umeboshi was princeless. I can't help but ship them even though I'm sure it'll never happen.

From the preview, I'm guessing we'll have some Alice next week. I wonder how Claude will react to the Blanche girl.

Oh, and Yune is at least 13 apparently. She's just extremely petite.

Anyway, another sweet and heartwarming episode. 5/5

You don't see lolis like her often, just a loli for the sake of cuteness only with quite a helpful streak.

Damn... I almost had a heart attack when Yune tried drinking the coffee. She is just way too kawaii >_<

Claude seems to be warming up quite nicely, compared to when he was introduced. Then again, what kind of heartless freak wouldn't melt when faced with Yune's level of cuteness?

Also the umeboshi scene at the end. That was absolutely PRICELESS XD

Yeah exactly!

  • I for one dig all the scenery in the spoiler
IMO it's rather well reproduced and the guy from last thread that is part of the staff doing this series sure got those designs pretty good. The authenticity is good.

  • I got to say the same thing with the market in the spoiler
with the presentation of the cheese stand and a person sharpening knives like in the old days among other shown in things is a culturally rich reminder of the old days. When things were not taken for granted like some tech did today. There are now out there knives sharpeners that are electrical. In e.g. There is also that person playing music from his box.

  • I am still WTF @ the cost of a sheet of paper in the spoiler
that's awfully a lot for one so I assume that it was very hard to make specialized sheets in those days.

I am absolutely shocked.
I just realized that Yune is actually 13!

I guess it kind of makes sense since Asians, or Japanese in this case, were pretty short back then.

There is actually a possibility of it happening, Yune/Claude.
If you read the manga there are some really cute scenes.
And I believe one of the genres is Romance.

It just seems weird with the height difference </3

I wonder how old Claude is...
His age has never really been revealed yet.

It's nice to see how Oscar is slowly getting used to Yune and how he slowly opens up to her, I really hope they will continue to get along so well

Yune eating the fresh bread was just moeeee overkill, they should warn us o.o"

Yune's Kawaii Level Is Over 9000!

im starting to enjoy this anime, i dont know why though :)
but i dont understand why Yune is in France, did she leave her family?
I'm not entirely sure either, but it seems she either tagged along with gramps unexpectedly or was hired as a servant.

Yune left her family to assist gramps, and his grandson. The grandfather did some trading with them, and I think the family suggested Yune go with him. See in Japan Yune's job was to kind of be the sign outside the door. So gramps thought it may help their business to have something exotic. Plus Yune gets to experience another culture, and make connections business wise. At least that's what I have come to understand.

Just to add on your comment. Oscar said that It's a family tradition for Yune to serve as an attendant and Yune wanted to work in Paris. So, Oscar brought her back to France.

Yune is too adorable. Her cuteness level should be illegal. ><

Hello. Considering all the questions about Yune and Claude's age, I checked with the staff. It hasn't been completely confirmed yet but Yune should be 14 years old and Claude 17.

I also posted new production pictures on the catsuka forum:

I just confirmed the age of the series main characters with Ishizuka san, the production main assistant.

Yune is 13 years old, not 14 like I mentionned before, sorry.
Claude is 17.

The Blanche daughters, Alice and Camille who will appear for the first time in the next episode are 14 and 17 years old.

@ ThomasRomain, Yune does NOT LOOK 13!!!!!!!!!! TO me she looks like a 9 year old...
Claude as 17 makes sense.
haha, but thats just my perception.

Yune is really cute but is mature, she knows her manners and such. Its true that Japanese people dont really eat dairy, they do drink milk though... The only time when i had dairy products when i went to japan long ago was milk for breakfast in the morning ONCE out of the 18 days we went and like cheese which was a... topping and you couldnt really taste it. hahah but the family i lived with jst maybe didnt like dairy products. This is just out of my experience.

What was that weird sound the lady at the bread booth gave out when she handed over the bread to Yune? I guess it was some kind of reaction from the warmth of the bread. Yune didn't seem to think it was that hot when she recieved it, though. xD

I'm glad I decided to pick up this show, it's so enjoyable to watch and the art is so beautiful. I put the majority of my thoughts in my blog post, but I wanted to say for anyone who is on the fence about watching this, you should definitely give it a try! Maybe you'll love the slow pacing, or maybe you'll hate it, but at the very least I'm sure you'll love the amazing backdrops and the animation.
