----------------------------------------

Nice episode =)

A hint for an Okinawa Arc during that meeting?! (for future season, of course :P)

XD What did she take out from his and her chest? Was there something like a Terra core? o.O
Well, making a contract by changing limbs is less fascinating, I think. XD

By the way, did they synchronized?! If yes, how did he know how to? o.O Odd...
Disregard that, I just found it odd that he was calling out to her as if they would begin to synchronize. :S Shouldn't it be the other way?!
Okay, he noticed the difference being "normal" and being as a "Keiyakusha" or contractor, but still...

Now I have to wait the whole week for the next ep >_<
As for this one I really liked it, but I'm kinda disappointed that Keita didn't throw knives and furniture at Kuro when he found her in his home, as he did in manga ;p
Also their synchro looked stupid. I was only waiting for Keita to shout something like 'transform!' and hop into sailormoon uniform xD
And this thing that she took out of his chest was his heart, she told sumthing like 'take this heart in exchange blah blah' or something ;p

hmm its actually going a bit different direction from manga ;o (such as switching hearts instead of arms for contract ;o) other than that. i m still enjoying it :)

Ah man I wished they left the arm contract in there instead of the hearts. It was pretty lolz to see
in the manga.

The only thing that really bothered me is just the synchro scene. I like the change of contract to be honest, because exchanging an arm never really made sense to me (although I do wonder, what other body parts can be used instead?)

The synchro scene was like a technicolor transformation sequence minus the transformation. I might be able to get past it if it only showed up this one time, but it looks like a stock footage of sorts which leads me to believe that we'll see more if it (no matter how much I don't want to).

Why oh why did they have to choose to do the synchro THAT way?!

I actually thoroughly enjoyed this episode as I did with the first. I haven't read the manga myself, so I'm not particularly sure how the story differs. But I'm currently enjoying the story so far, I have no problems with it. The fight scenes are go a treat as well!
I hope they stick to this pace.

Still better than the manga, but the pace is a bit off in this episode. Excel looks very good (and she is voiced by Rika's seiyuu too :)) in the preview though.

Not as exciting as the first ep, but still pretty good. They showed the "little girl hit by truck and dragged for 15 meters to create a nice brush effect" scene 2 more times, just in case someone missed it last time. 5 bucks that we'll see it in some flashback at least one more time during the series.

I haven't read the manga but i expected him to get dismembered. Oh and that sync scene was a bit ridiculous. "Kuro! Transform and roll out!"

I haven't read the manga but they've got a lot of vocab...
Can anyone give me any definitions of the main ones?
For example... What's a "Mototsumitami" and how do you become one? Or will that be explained later?

Admittedly, I really only liked the fight scene in this ep, and I think that will probably remain the same through the entire series. All of the characters all act in a dull, unemotional fashion, and do everything in a sluggish uber-depressed manner. Now then, the fight scene was actually pretty good, and a bit better than the manga (more complicated than "Twa la la! I have an invisible whip!" "Schyncro!" "Agh, I have been defeated!") Now then, I still have two questions:

1) As you could tell from the opening scene, they aren't holding back on the bloodshed. Then why did they change the arm contract part from the manga?

2) It seems that somehow the anime has done its equivalent of volume 1 of the manga in two episodes. I read the manga when it comes out in the U.S, so I I'm not 100% sure how far it is in japan, but if I remember hearing right, it was at about 8 volumes. So how are they going to continue once they catch up?

I'm rather enjoying this show. The fighting still looks pretty good, and we got a much better explanation of the doppeliner system.

Very interested in seeing how the contract will effect them next week.

Mysterious girl shows up, saves guy's life, gives him magic powers. I was hoping this show wouldn't be so typical.

Fight scene in this episode wasn't nearly as awesome as last episode either. What's with the magic whip crap. And last episode Kuro nearly gets beaten to death by a single thug, but this time she can easily handle 12 at once. I was really pleased to have a main heroine who wasn't ridiculously overpowered, but apparently that isn't the case.

Dang... there is like... nothing at all this season, other than sequels.

This went on a little predictably, at least they did some explanation of this doppeleinr stuff, so I don't feel like they are just going to come up with some crap out of nowhere. The synchro stuff was weird, but I'm sure Kuro will say something about it in the next episode. This all feels a lot like a better executed Chaos;Head for me. We'll see where it goes.

same here, the manga is soooo great... why did they change it... i like it when he loses his arm, how can you just not show that scene??? And then Kuro removes his arm to prove to him what happened, that was funny...
And looks like they are removing the other guys exceeds... she beat them up in 10 seconds...
Apparently in the anime they change hearts instead of arms, and bad guys are weaker...

For the cutting arm change I guess they needed to censore it a bit because of the airing hour. In a manga you can put whatever you want if it's rated by the good age group, on the TV you cannot put everything you want at any hour because there's children watcher. Anyway I don't mind and I find way logic a change of heart than a change of arm.

Maybe in the Dvd the scene will be redraw according to the manga.

But hey all my post is speculation don't grant it as if I told you a fact.

To maxime, i guess you have a point there, i dont know the airing hour, but there were fine with showing all that blood anyway... cut limbs are not possible?

As for KKDW, that Conservation of Ninjitsu is funny. Everyone already knows it, but to see it somewhere written and so serious looking is funny :P
In the manga, only one guy besides the Wip-Boss guy was using Exceed as well, so it was just one extra, not a gang!

From my point of view viewing blood is way less shocking than showing limb getting cutted.

Well I feel that Kuro got serious when she heard they were from the shishigami clan, which she wasn't really in the first one. (Yeah he destroyed her ramen, but it's not the same kind of ''seriousness'' here)
It's true that the difference was too big, but if she was in the state she was in episode 2 I guess she could have handle episode 1 bad guys quite like the others moron who got one shotted in episode 2

nice animation, color and character design. high budget like sunrise.....

the story, on the other hand, is cliche as always....and hopefully Keita will NOT turn out to be that generic male protagonist who is useless and let the girsl fight.....

I really enjoyed this episode the action scene's were great but I found that the main character did not really show much feeling about losing the little girl and the power up was a bit corny it felt like one of those stock transformation scenes you see all the time. Other then those 2 small things I am really looking forward to seeing how this series turns out as it looks like it could be a real gem.

This is really the best for Winter 08 I think.

Kuro's an all-rounder. Cheerful, bad-ass, cute (when eating).

Kuro's equation goes like this:
Cute + Bad-ass + even more bad-ass mid-air combo + puppy in chest + always hungry = EPIC

god, what I wouldn't give to have both the male protagonist and the girl beating the shit out of the bad guys in hand-to-hand combat for once. Of course, that's probably not how it will go. Keita will probably continue acting like a pussy or just stand around looking like he's actually doing something during fights. w/e. At least this show has Kuro.

Meh, at least it was better than the first episode. I was going to drop it if it didn't get better with this one lol. The action scenes are a little shounenish which is lame.

I hope they throw in a little romance to make it more interesting for my tastes. I mean it doesn't have to be like SnS, but just a little lol.

Only good thing in this anime is fight scens and animation. Synchro scene... n/c. Heart exchange... n/c. Keita so polite while noticed Kuro next to fridge... n/c. I prefer scen where he is throwing a glass and shouting: "Go to hell, damnit! You fucking brat!" ;)

Why they made tipical shounen from good seinen? To widen age group, i know, i know :/ Have to forget about manga if i want to watch this anime.
