Its not your average adaption quality decay; the movie does a poor job of selling you on the romance between the characters and fleshing out the world so that you understand the stakes. Even judged as a stand alone movie, it has poor voice acting, mediocre animation, and poor direction that plods on slowly instead of building tension. | The OP is right in a lot of ways. Doesn't hurt to read the LN. |
| While the adaptation isn't the best I've seen indeed, this Ln isn't good enough to be worth reading ImO. So except if you really liked the movie, there's no point in reading the LN this time. Just read something else instead. |
