Aww it was obvious he couldn't just confess so easily but i wouldn't think Sai'd be dense like a harem protagonist. I guess that's better than those though.

I would have assumed sai purposely deflected the question. She did see a group of bunny girls jump erai earlier. Then, when erai "confessed" sai pretended not to understand and force erai to name the object of his statement. This can happen when japanese expressions sometimes dont have noun objects.

If not for the author explicitly pointing out sai might be dense, I would have kept on believing sai just rejected erai.
