I got to this Livejournal community called fandomsecrets, where people post secrets (like Postsecret.com), except about fandom. There were SO MANY praising Phoenix Wright. I wanted to play the games badly anyway, but that's what really pushed me to buy a DS and get them.

For me I remember throughout '07, people kept talking about Phoenix Wright and at that point the famous "Objection!" kept being heard. Thats all I knew about it(didn't even know what Phoenix looked like.)
Fast foward to May '08, I was bored and searched for Phoenix Wright on YouTube. Ended up watching Phoenix Wrong. I threw my hands up and said "fuck this! I'm getting the game."
Thus 2 weeks since that day, I finished 1 through 4 in no time. Replaying them now. :)
I grew up with Point & Click games, so it was sad for me when they died out for various reasons. When I kept reading that Phoenix Wright was a revival of this sort of gaming it got me interested. Can't actually remember why I picked up the game, other than it had been in the shop for a while and I'd had my eye on it, but I go for a series because it's different from whatever else is out there. And Phoenix Wright is certainly different. It lived up to all the praise it gets.
I do law at college and when my boyfriend bought me my DS for my birthday he thought I'd like it, so he bought it for me. He made a big mistake... 3 years down the line and I still won't shut up about it ^-^.

I had heard a lot about Phoenix Wright when it first came out for the DS in the US. I had always wanted to try it out, but never got around to it. My interest was rekindled after I played an old Super Famicom game called Famicom Detectives Club II: The Girl in the Back. (It's a pretty good mystery game, and I recommend getting it on an emulator and playing the fan translation of it.)
I ended up going to Gamestop and buying all three of the first games at once. I just beat the Trials and Tribulations recently. Now I just have to find Apollo Justice.
A lot of my friends on LJ were playing it and raving all about it constantly. I was also intrigued that it was a mystery and detective-like game, and mystery is my favorite genre EVER. |D I was born to love this game.
How did I get into PW? It was very unique for me. :D
For starters, in my country there were no advertisements for this series. So I have never even heard of it before.
While my friend and I were reading the "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" VN, and we noticed that the main character was pointing with his finger at some points in the game. We thought it was very cool, and we named it "Battler Position" (It doesn't make sense, I know XD We don't know why we called it "Position", but we thought it sounded cool). We liked that move very much, and we nearly started a religion out of it.
A few months later, my friend was bored, and he found an article of the PW series on VNDB. He said: "Look! This game has a Battler Position in it, so it must be awesome!" ...
After while, we got the games and we tried them. And we were hooked.
This is one of the best series ever!
... and after these games, we renamed the Battler Position simply into "The Position" :D
I discovered PW series in a rather boring way (compared to some of the stories here XD). My friend suggested it to me and I trusted his opinion so I went out and bought it (I bought Justice for All because I couldn't find the original, thankfully I found it later), now we always scream objection. hehe. I also introduced the game to another friend and she got hooked as well. :D *Phoenix virus is very contagious!*
I had heard some good stuff about it and when I bought my flashcard I downloaded a torrent with top 50 ds games. And one of them was Phoenix Wright and I thought whatever and tested it. I was in love after the first objection and pointing out the first contradiction.
A friend borrowed me the first PW-Game and it was so much fun to play 'D I fell in love with this series and went to buy the other three games right away ^^
one of my best friends before getting my own DS she gave me PW2 and told me to play it without using a walkthrough XDD it was kinda hard not to use one but I've managed to finish the game without using it and after that I got my own DS and bought my R4 which helped me with playin the rest of PW games ! I'm about to finish the first one XDD I played PW not in the right order XDD I've started with the second , third then now I'm playing the first :D gonna play Apollo after finishing the first game can't wait :D
I heard about the games some time ago, but for some reason I was not that interested. When a friend of mine was really obsessed with PW my interesed growed, but I was not able to find a PW game here. Not long ago the Apollo Justice game was for sale, so I picked it up and then bought, after I was finally able to, the first PW game via eBay. While playing Apollo Justice I told my friends how awesome it is, so two of them are now really into the franchise, as well.
I had just bought my DS and was looking for games so when I saw Phoenix Wright: Justice for All at GameStop one day about a year ago for 20 bucks, I just bought it.
One of the greatest random decisions ever.
My friend showed me this vid boot to the head then I wanted to know what show it was but it wasent a show then I looked up a bunch of things about it now I'm pw's biggest fan
I saw Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies on the 3DS eShop. Perhaps because around that time I was studying law, it caught my interest and I downloaded the demo; I played and loved it, and bought the full version shortly after. That led to my interest in the series as a whole.
