Has anyone had external interference ruin a great anime moment?

I'll tell my story as an example.

I was watching Hibike! Euphonium S3 with my mom. I had already seen the whole series and wanted to show it to her so this was her first time watching but my second time watching. We were approaching that climax scene in ep 12 when one of the smoke detectors in my house started throwing the low battery chirp every minute. Totally ruined my rewatch experience of what I thought could be one of the greatest moments in anime history lol I don't think I'll be able to watch that scene the same way ever again. And the cherry on top: My mom doesn't remember that scene really well because of the smoke detector lmao

So yeah, funny unexpected experiences right in the middle of epic anime moments, please share! ♡

if something external happens I just pause and fix it. I don't remember anything big happening while watching an anime to be honest.

I once missed the airing of a Pokemon movie because my TV service was down.

I may not enjoy a particular anime because of my intrusive thoughts or because videos (I mean russian pirate sites) frequently stop loading. Shitty dub also affects it.
I prefer to watch at night when my family sleeps and I'm alone by myself.

yes this has happened to me many times
sometimes i am in the climax of the last episode, the video will start buffering and ruin my experience. this has happened to me many times and only on the last episodes of a show, so i just prefer to download it now

Yes I have, though I can't remember which anime it was. I remember there was a pretty epic battle scene, I want to see it was probably one piece, and just as it was about to reach its climax my internet went out. 🤣😭

It happened* almost every single time. I'd be totally sucked into an episode of like goblin slayer or shield hero S1 and just when things get good my mom is beating on my door with a stick or a boomcar starts blasting rap through the walls, or something similarly odious... but usually those two things.

*happened, because all the great anime moments are gone. I've watched all the great stuff ever made, and all I was left with are bad memories.

Once my phone malfunctioned when I was watching an episode of JoJo part 5: Golden Wind and what's worse, I had to give it to the mechanic to repair and it didn't come back before 2 days. It was in the middle of a spectacular fight's conclusion.

Oh crap, this is the age of streaming and all that; I should have expected the litany of buffering inconvenience stories haha

I remember back when 90% of anime had to be pirated I would try to look for some stuff and I'd end up in random websites that would only buffer 3 seconds worth of video every 30 seconds. Those were the days lmao...

@SoumyaUkil73 That's real pain right there, especially with the elite osts that only boosted the greatness of each fight in part 5.

Just the typical people on social media who shamelessly post spoilers, even outside of anime communities. Have seen brainless posters casually dropping stuff like "this hit me like when Character A died in [insert popular anime]."

And also Google suggestions. I type "Danganronpa" into the search bar and Google populates the suggestions with "WHY DID CHARACTER X KILL CHARACTER Y" and "WAS CHARACTER Z REALLY DEAD THE WHOLE TIME?" Jesus Christ, Google, calm down lmao.

Yeah I can kinda relate to that. I find that if some interruption or annoyance happens that is ruining my experience with something, the best thing is to just stop and give myself time to calm my mind and forget about it. Like just stop watching the anime and do something else for that day. Then the next day come back and start that episode again from the beginning. It's so difficult to force your self into a relaxed mood to enjoy something when you are actively irritated by something. So don't try to force it, just wait it out.

@JayDaAnimeLord Truly. But I rewatched it from the beginning again after getting my phone back.

I think I was once watching an emotional Anime moment (can't remember what Anime) when suddenly... I needed to poop.
I paused the video and, when I came back... I'm a different man; No feelings, no emotions, no tears... nothing. Just a man watching a sad Anime moment with a wet butt.

Once, the power went out while I was watching Attack on Titan, so it took me a long time to finish the episode because my internet was slow.

Hmm nothing comes to mind, because I simply pause or postpone my anime-watching time whenever I feel some external interference.

Well, couldn't you re-watch the show again after the external issues have been resolved?

There was one time where at the final climax of the anime I got a random phone call.

@StewedBeefHaunch lol this happens ALOT. It just insensitively suggests the popular searches about what you typing, which are spoilers
