It's back and the dream of unifying China seems to be a major goal this season.

Xin still leads the army as the previous seasons and it looks like he's working to improve the headcount and firepower. It's a strong start imo as it builds up the hype and anticipation for the rest of the season. Expecting big battles ahead. I think at this point, Xin has what it takes to make his dreams come true. So many factions and characters making their appearances though...this is going to be alot to take in.

Kingdom S6 is going to be another Mid Adaptation since it's the same team at Studio Signpost which is a shame for their highest selling Seinen series, It's carried by the Seiyuus performance and strong art direction, the Animation is worth nothing to note with the Action scenes
It's going to be censored as always and the Directing will look bland as all hell

This was a really great start to a new season, though I still maintain that the season 5 finale would have worked better as the season 6 premiere. Regardless, the failed diplomatic peace talks between Li Mu and Ying Zheng showed an interesting difference in ideology. And honestly, while Li Mu's proposal had a long term flaw, I do kind of agree that it was the best option. Of course in hindsight looking at history, we can determine whether or not judgements were valid, but putting the scene in a vacuum not knowing the future, I would have jumped at the chance for such an alliance.

As for the other half of the episode, Xin's tryouts are kinda insane. It's hard to believe anybody passed them at all, haha. It will definitely be good for them to have ace archers on their side, but I am not sure I will be able to keep up with all their key members if they keep adding new ones. The non-archer new recruits are already pretty forgettable. But I suppose there's plenty of time for them to be fleshed out and given unique personalities.

@feyyazu35 in the first episode of season 5 everything was laid out nicely and got right to it.. wonderfully done.. this has got to be more than 13 episodes because compared to the pacing of last season where are we doing here? I haven't read the manga and dont intend to but there better be a time skip and jump right into the invasion of Zhao because even four episodes of this kind of content will be some bull

If it’s going to be just 13 episodes the arc will be divided in 3/4 seasons. For the sake of production quality it would be better, the production quality of this anime is already kinda low. Of course for the hype factor a continuing 30ish episode adaptation would be amazing

Which is completely fine, we are not getting a remake, like never, the manga will be like 4 thousand chapters by its end, as long as they find some money to adapt peak even in the middest way possible it’s still enough. The worst adaptation possible of Kingdom is still better than any Ufotable or Mappa level adaptation of the slop that comes out every season

@bzzrkd No time jumps are needed. The first episode of season 6 was adapted from chapters 490 to 493, the arc of the invasion of Zhao begins with chapter 496. Most likely, after the end of season 6, season 7 will be announced, which should have at least 26 episodes.

One episode down, and the wait for it was unbearable. Finally able to get that Kingdom fix again, looking forward to see what's in store.

I would read the manga, but I feel the anime is so good that I always want to go into it blind. Hoping to see the rating increase as the season progresses.

@SoulReaper85 its not all black the voice acting and music is solid and censorship seems from the trailer of this season like its really reduced.

@TheRealRouges It's not fine at all and this level of Animation to be expected from their Action scenes has beyond disappointing across these new seasons and their biggest seinen series can't have an Adaptation to match the quality of the source material is disappointing
Mappa Has Made Really Good Adaptations for most of the Material they adapt I'll take that kinda "slop" like Camp Fire Isekai since I know I'll have great VISUAL experience at the least

Nono I completely understand, but I prefer having this slideshow with good voice acting and music than having no adaptation. “Unfortunately” Kingdom is not for the mainstream audience, so it would have never been able to have a big production behind its anime. They are barely making money out of this, and I think you can feel that the studio actually cares about the source material, they just don’t have the time and resources to give it justice

@SoulReaper85 i'm grateful that we kingdom fans, are getting at least a faithful adaptation which would probably adapt entire manga in the first place. Though they butcher action scenes but at least it's not as bad as Berserk 2016.

@TheRealRouges This is the biggest selling Seinen Manga in the Biggest Manga publisher in the country and they put bigger production on IPs that sell a fraction of what Kingdom sells so that's complete bull
I rather have no adaptation than a slop adaptation
I at least still have the manga
If they were barely making money off this Anime than there wouldn't be more seasons and manga is still high seller

Just because a studio "may" care doesn't automatically translate to a good looking adaptation

Dunno man, this series is popular only in Japan basically. I think it’s one of the rare cases in which the western watchers are actually influencing where the money go. Actually I think that for English speaking countries there is not even an official translation for the manga yet.

@-Sleek- be happy I am receiving a Slop Adaptation that won't have anything I enjoyed about the Manga from Visual and Action Standpoint yeah no freaking thanks
I can't have criticism on something if I don't watch it
I want more than fine compared to actually GOOD seinen Adaptations like Vinland Saga
These Recent seasons have failed at having good action scenes or good cuts of action animation compared to the Live Action movies

Then it really wouldn’t make sense why they have to Pierrot to begin with for the cgi adaptation and then waited 7-8 years between season 2 and 3, there has to be an explanation somewhere…

@SoulReaper85 Even when kingdom anime is limited in animation what it has very good is very good direction which is far more important than sakuga quality alone (even though it's always welcome obviously) because if the direction is poor/mediocore then even these high quality scenes may not be delivered but when direction is fully utilizied such as use of lighting/colors/color palette etc., which not only perfectly reflects the written story through visuals perfectly and very accurately but also making every scene movie quality/breathtaking by default even when limited in animation and then when there are high quality scenes or high quality anime this complements even further. Look at berserk 1997 is the perfect example of it.

Edit: also these shonen/shojo/seinen/josei are just demographics which determines in what magazine original source material has been published with, this has nothing to do with the story. Look at kaguya sama and bochi the rock both are seinen yet do not cover any mature themes because the reason? the actual genre is slice of life which is the actual genre definition, these series can be everything since once again what matters the most is the actual author and the actual genre/theme they work with and authors within shonen/shojo magazines can also target adult audience since shonen/shojo stands for teenage boys/girls of the age of 13 to 18.
