A television anime adaptation of Katsuwo's #Zombie Sagashitemasu (#I'm Looking for Zombie) manga was announced by production company Kadokawa on Friday. Katsuwo drew an illustration to commemorate the announcement (pictured). The anime is scheduled to begin in 2026.

Katsuwo (Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu) serialized the adventure supernatural manga in Comic Dengeki Daioh "g" from June 2022 to November 2023. Kadokawa published the third and final volume in January 2024.

Synopsis
Set in a world where 90% of humanity has contracted and died from a deadly, virulent disease, only to rise again as attacking zombies, thirteen years have passed since the "Red Day" of societal collapse. The surviving humans now live away from the big cities, still hoping to reclaim them one day. An entirely new generation, unaware of the pre-Red Day world, is coming into its own.

The story begins when Aki, who has no memories of the world before its fall, escapes her village with her close friends Haru and Natsuki to search for her missing father. As they venture into the outside world, they find themselves surrounded by zombies on all sides! Along the way, they rescue Yuu and Sakura and take refuge in a home improvement store. They regroup, and now the counterattack begins—!! (Source: Kadokawa, edited)

This title could have hit the jackpot if its anime had been released during the 2020 lockdown.

If I had a nickel for everytime there was a show with cute girls in a dystopian zombie setting, represented in a fluffy, goofy, joyful and moe manner, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it has happened twice.
