Tbh, this arc about Tsukasa really highlights the importance of a sibling relationship. Yeah sure, he is somewhat similar to Hanako but also has a disturbing side. Kinda crazy really.

I still think it's important to see his past to see both his similarities and contrast compared to Hanako. Hell of an episode imo.

Tsukasa they could never make me hate you. So that’s how the red arc ends holy shit going with the fire and an eerie orchestral arrangement for the ED instead of our usual really made everything bit harder.

Poor Tsukasa gave up everything for Amane and Amane didn’t even live a long life he “killed” Tsukasa. Very valid psychotic break there at the end lol. Can’t wait to see how the next arc goes!! I’m glad they went back to the horror roots of the series in this arc. Extremely unsettling and Tsukasa’s cheery exterior with the mystery of the haunted house and the sad backstory just makes everything even creepier.

Don’t worry I’m thinking up ways to change the timeline so Amane and Tsukasa can both be happy, healthy and grow up together 😭 seeing Amane snap on Tsukasa and talk about how he can’t do normal things really hurt sm, no child deserves that.

On the bright side, Kou being a big brother figure to Tsukasa was really cute and him carrying Nene at the end was adorable. Lerche cooked with the art direction today, so many beautiful scenes.

So, Kou practically inadvertently caused the Yugi twins murder-suicide via a very strange time paradox. Wowzers!

This episode was really really good!! Can't wait for the next one!

So the 'god' became part of Tsukasa for some reason? Or he was somehow fit to be a vessel?

So basically, Amane's dying is indirectly caused by Nene and Shou, according to my interpretation

Ooooh noooo… I don’t think they did a good thing with Tsukasa there lol. Yeah that changed absolutely nothing, so I guess that means the Tsukasa that came back was the real one, but he changed a little thanks to what Kou told him, probably because of the “god” too. Of course, I think he had to be a bit demented already to be excited about being killed, so I don’t think that was all on Kou, but damn what a rough way for all of this Red House stuff to end, we learned a lot and they found a way back into the ghost realm, but they didn’t change anything regarding the fate of Hanako and Tsukasa, I figured they wouldn’t be able to anyway but it was a good shot.

Also, I’m glad they brought up the ghost Tsukasa that we know, so is he a fake or what? Just because Tsukasa did end up actually returning and being killed doesn’t mean the ghost one isn’t a fake, I guess that’s an answer for another day, but I still have a good idea of what he is I think. I’m also very curious about the god that Tsukasa discovered, it looked like it was learning from him in the beginning, so maybe it was a newborn god or something at that point? We got a lot of answers in this arc but I still have a lot of questions lol. Oh well, for now the gang is back together and are planning to travel into the boundary to save those important to them, not sure if two episodes will be enough but I’m excited to see how this season ends, hopefully we can get more after this as well, assuming we aren’t caught up with the manga yet, someone else will know the answer to that.

And lastly, awww Tiara made an appearance in this one! She’s so sweet man, although I’ve never had shrimp pizza lol, I gotta try that. And oh yeah, not sure why Nene got injured but nothing came of it, but maybe something will still come up later on, if not, I guess it was just to show they didn’t get out unscathed.

Time travel. Since my first day on the job as a Starfleet captain I swore I'd never let myself get caught in one of these godforsaken paradoxes - the future is the past, the past is the future, it all gives me a headache.

Yeah, just... don't try to figure those things out, you'll be better off. 😅 It's interesting, though, if the house was burnt down when they got back... they should be in an alternative timeline - it was just dilapidated when they went in, right? Due to it having been abandoned/condemned. However, Teru and Akane seem to be just like they were before, not surprised or confused to see them or anything. Sooooo....?

But man, the vibes again... I don't think Tsukasa has ever been normal. And then Kou and Nene so grown-up in comparison, it's actually nice to see how great they are with the little kid - then again, Kou has experience thanks to his little sister, ofc... but there's also this nagging feeling in the background all the time, adding some extra tension, because kids shouldn't have to be so grown up at such a young age. It's been marvelous in all its subtlety for several episodes now.

The post scene with Teru and Akane (and Tiara ofc!) is also exceptional, all their interactions and expressions are so effortless, it creates a wonderfully natural aura with all their different personalities.

Definitely another series that keeps bringing it week after week.

I'm a little confused with all the time things going on and how complex it became especially regarding the relationship of Tsukasa and this god lol, I just love the contrast between the very creepy ending of Tsukasa being excited about being killed by Amane which is going to happen and the cute little sister Tiara at the end ahah

Always love a good "Inevitable Future" time travel arc. Less complicated and easier to write without technical plot holes so they can focus more on the rest of the story within it.

Uhh, time travel reared it's ugly head, but basically changes nothing.
And Japan? Stop putting weird crap on Pizza!! LOL
Man, I thought the thing under the house would ask for humans from Tsukasa. ( Apparently, it did later from other residents, thus the "Curse")

wonder if we ll ever seen Tiara in action, we know due to the interlude season that she is the most powerful spirituality user and exorcist in that world but im guessing the Minamotos would never let a child be endangered 😅

also i must say, the Yugi twins must be the cutests children ive seen in anime for a long time and Tsukasa is perfectly written, capturing exactly the priorities, wishes ans line if toight of a a 4 yrs old

So wholesome how Tsukasa and Nene both love Amane ❤️
And I noticed a time paradox : Nene, Tsukasa and Kou were in the past while being in the house. Now after Tsukasa has been sent out along with the twisted creature in his heart, the time continued from when Tsukasa re-appeared. I still have questions about what really happened but I guess that's for another time.
But man the twins are so cute with their love and care for each other even if Tsukasa is a little twisted.

@TheColonel76 Tiara's cuteness is arguably a big part of me even starting the series once I saw her in the spin off comedy shorts (Hawk's voice actor doesn't hurt either, it's iconic). I'd also try shrimp pizza if she suggested it, but I forget if that was mentioned in the shorts, that's where I first saw her finding "Fairy", which I'm not sure if the main series properly explains that, since we don't see Tiara much.

@Ashhk Even season 1 had the brief moment that all but confirmed it wasn't a dream with Nene meeting a young Amane (or Tsukasa?) at the festival 50+ years ago

@Alex_the_reaper Also, she has a youkai/apparition as a pet, but either Teru doesn't recognize it as such or doesn't think it's a threat if he already saw it's a wild Mokke

@holdingnothing Getting into TBHK because of Tiara sounds like a good enough reason to me lol, I’m sure it was a bit disappointing when you realized she barely appears tho.

@TheColonel76 I was made aware at some point, but I'm used to disappointment in some respect.

If one of my personal favorite manga ever gets an adaptation, it'd be on the level of aliens visiting us and not being hostile at all, but just giving us tech so we can go into space, plus help us to deal with climate change, etc. Just too good to be true

And that's just if they adapted Arachnid, which is 14 volumes from a monthly serialization, so a solid adaptation would probably need to be 20~ episodes to be decent and that's if they likely trimmed the fat in places. Plus the prequel, Caterpillar, which is a bit longer and an ongoing series.

All in all, pretty darn dark and violent, it'd be relegated to Netflix anyway, CR would avoid it like the "plague" that kind of happens in Arachnid near the end. SA, general abuse, graphic violence, assassins, and the comedy is sparse in the last half or so, since we have the high school setting to soften it a bit, but the assassins don't care and infiltrate as expected.
