 Kadokawa announced a Japanese dub cast for the anime adaptation of Plutus and Spoon's Who Made Me a Princess webtoon on Thursday. The production company also opened an official website, revealing a teaser promo and teaser visual (pictured).The anime will begin streaming in Japan under the title Aru Hi, Ohimesama ni Natte shimatta Ken ni Tsuite on September 28, followed by a television broadcast on October 1. Cast Athanasia: Sumire Morohoshi (Yubisaki to Renren) Claude: Tomoaki Maeno (Fukigen na Mononokean) Felix: Ryouhei Kimura (Jigokuraku) Lucas: Nobuhiko Okamoto (Kami no Tou) Ijekiel: Shuuichirou Umeda (Kanojo ga Koushaku-tei ni Itta Riyuu) Jennette: Manaka Iwami (Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon) Yingying Zhang (Ya She) is directing the anime at Colored Pencil Animation, with iQIYI and Kuaikan credited for production. Kadokawa is credited for the production of the Japanese version. Plutus originally penned the fantasy drama series as a web novel on the Joara website in June 2016, completing it in a month. The author then serialized the novel officially on Ridibooks from December 2017 to October 2018. KW Books published the novel under its Witch Book imprint in three volumes between December 2017 and March 2018. Plutus and Spoon serialized the webtoon on the Ridi Webtoon platform alongside the web novel from December 2017 to April 2022. CarroToon released the ninth and final volume in December 2022. Kadokawa published the webtoon in Japanese in 11 volumes between July 2019 and April 2025. The webtoon is also published in multiple foreign languages, including Chinese, French, and Indonesian. Tapas Media began publishing the novel digitally in English in October 2024, with Tappytoon releasing the webtoon chapters on its website. Seven Seas Entertainment also licensed the webtoon in English and published the ninth and final volume on March 18. Synopsis The Lovely Princess, the secondary character Athanasia de Alger Obelia is the most pitiful of all. Her mother died in childbirth and her father, Emperor Claude, never gave his daughter even an inch of love. Forever yearning for even the slightest bit of parental love, she was ultimately framed for a crime and executed by the orders of her beloved father. When a woman from modern-day Korea falls asleep with some sleeping pills, she later awakens in the infant body of Athanasia. Knowing the unenviable fate that awaits her, she resolves to remain out of her tyrannical father's sight so that she may never incur his wrath. However, fate isn't so kind, and she meets him at only five years of age. With her original plan tossed out of the window, she now aims to endear herself so much to her father that he would never dream of hurting her. However, as many work toward their own ends, her plan is thrown into chaos—Athanasia's biological "sister" Jennette Margarita longs for a family, high-ranking nobility vie for power, and a shadow from Claude's past threatens to destroy everything he holds dear.
