Nope, that guy’s not a masochist. He’s basically just an orgasm speedrunner at this point. Somehow, the moment he’s knocked out, he starts moving like he’s unlocked cheat codes. Anime logic, so it has to make sense even when it doesn’t lol. They could’ve done better with the fight I think, but if anything, at least we didn’t get something like Rudo one-shotting the bad dude with his first ever power-up. That could’ve made things worse tbh.

And Zanka… wow, what a contribution. Dude jumps in like he’s about to end things, then lets the villain wake up, giggle like a maniac, and still pull off exactly what he came for. Honestly, Zanka should’ve just stayed face-down a few more minutes lmaoo. Anyway of course, the crew rolls in right after, because obviously it’s still way too early for Rudo to square up with the big bad.. more so, when they tell that glove thing.

They went overboard with that cliffhanger honestly lol, knowing what's to come next episode.

But Jabber is too insane and too of a creep to die.

Despite stellar animation and creative fighting choreography, I begin to feel like it's too long because the underground environment is quite boring. So I'm glad that Jabber suddenly jump to the surface, it's like I get to breath a fresh air again.

I want to say that "at least no one died" but I'm not sure about Gris situation yet so I've to wait for the next episode for more information, I don't want to celebrate too early.

Zanka's battle tactics were awesome given the info he'd gathered at the time. Too bad Jabber just out-freaked all of it.

It's gonna suck hard if Gris has to go this soon. Rudo had just lost a father figure too.

Zanka and Rudo's battle tactic was smart but Jabber still got the upper hand, thank god Enjin and the other Cleaners were there.

Ngl, I've never really been a fan of the "enemy suddenly leaving because the mysterious boss arbitrarily forces them to" trope lol. Like it's not a dealbreaker or something that would make me lower my score, but I feel like there could be a more natural way to make a retreat happen. Jabber did drop some interesting information about Rudo's gloves being part of a "series," so learning more about that eventually will be something to look forward to.

So, Rudo is not someone special to have the power to create a vital instrument out of any tool; it's his glove that's special. From Jabber's conversation and how they zoomed into the symbol on the gloves that time, I assume there are other instruments with this symbol too. I wonder where Regto got these gloves from.

Zanka was definitely still holding a bit of a grudge from that poop fight, those strikes he was aiming at Rudo were way to genuine xD He's got a good tactical instinct though, coming up with such a plan on the spot. They did all they could do in a tough situation, but in the end...

Rudo has a point - how exactly do you beat such a masochist in a fight? xD Jabber basically forgoes defence, tanks all the hits, even stabs himself and then is still the last one standing, and wanting for more. On the other hand even one hit from those claws and his opponent is out for the count, so unfair xD

Sad to see Gris's amulet go... but it served its purpose well! The ending of the episode was so evil, please don't let Gris die

The Goon Squad. Of Course.

Hope Gris makes it, but that talisman dissolving into dust was not looking too good as a symbol for Gris. But to be honest, from a story telling perspective I prefer if people actually can die, even if it's not a main character. It feels like there aren't any stakes if anyone seems to have plot armour.

Got a bit tired of that fight though, glad it ended for now. Being a masochist is one thing, but that doesn't explain why he can take pretty much infinite punches and impacts. Feels a bit pointless to have a prolonged fight when you can do nothing to the opponent for whatever reason, although he probably was close to collapsing for real by the end.

Hope Gris makes it, Rudo's power is pretty devastating mentally though, he can use basically anything as a weapon but they will expire by the end of it. Maybe he will find a way to keep them from getting Thanos'd.

Ah come on. They really had to ruin it here. In what world does "stops pain a little" mean he can get thrown through fucking dozen of walls without consequences and yet everyone else gets hurt from a pinch. I absolutely hate when they pull shit like this. It's nothing else other than plot armor, because this had to happen, because writers wanted it to but lacked the imagination or skills to do it through something that makes sense. And the very next shot he can't stand up after not being punched through wall. But he was able to after being punched through 7. Who decides on this shit?

So Jabber is a untouchable god who doesn't get hurt because he doesn't feel pain. Or others are bunch of pussies and can't hit hard, even though those walls really looked like rock. There's absolutely nothing worse than when writers set rules in their own universe and then promptly break them.

Here's hoping they don't pull bullshit like this ever again.

i dont see how this dude doesnt have hostile intent.
looks like he ONLY has hostile intent and hes directing it everywhere, but mainly at rudo.
if he had not hostile intent, i think hed just be catatonic or something.

id view any intent to break or smash as hostile, so i wouldnt even buy that he doesnt see rudo as a living organism and thus there is no hostile intent. But considering all his attention is on rudo and rudo alone, its clearly directed hostile intent.

Incredibly cool how they were able to work together to beat Jabber's dumb ass. It just bothers me, that after all of that ass beating, the dude was still able to win the fight. I assume that the main point of this fight is to discover more of Rudo's power and how it works. Looks like his instruments are a one time use thing. Kind of a shame considering how cool this one was.

Going to be sad if Gris really does die. That dude was the most genuine person we've met so far down below. At least he was able to instill some trust and hope into Rudo.

Hoping one day that Rudo rips the head off of that shithead Jabber.

Phenomenal episode, fight wise, except for the convenient plot armor when the poison wears off. Apparently it's not as powerful as dreadlocks thought it was, Inconceivable!

Pretty sure Gris is dead? When his talisman turned to dust.

The Zanka and Rudo combo attack was really cool, they took a power that was made to keep danger away and turned it into a way to shoot Zanka across the room to slap around Jabber, it’s just a shame that not only did Jabber survive the onslaught, but also we won’t ever see Rudo use that same power again because we learned the weapons he uses are on a time limit, or at least that’s how it appears for now. But thankfully Jabber didn’t get what he wanted with the arrival of reinforcements, I had a feeling they’d be waiting outside since some of the supporters got away, sure was nice being met with Riyo’s face after all of that lol.

And I was thinking Jabber was cooked, but unfortunately he was bailed out by his little blue lady friend (who I’m ngl thought was a boy at first lol), but I guess really it’s a good thing the battle ended this way, Rudo is still with the Cleaners and nobody died, at least not yet anyway, it’s not looking good for Gris but I hope he survives. Also, Jabber mentioned Rudo’s gloves are from a “series”, does that mean like a brand or what? Guess that’s an answer for later.

The fight was great. It was cool to see the teamwork between them. But he was one tough opponent who was fighting till the end. But thanks to the Cleaners, he wasn't able to take Rudo away.

But some new mysteries appeared now with Rudo's glove patterns, and who was that girl in the end? Also, it looks like Rudo's powers work for a time on things; do those things break down after their use, like Gris's talisman did?

Like I said in the previous discussions, Gris had death flags all over him, but I didn't think they would take him away this early in the show. So, are they killing off Gris, already? Man... If so, RIP Gris. I guess Rudo will lose another parent-like figure.

That was a nice episode with good animation. It's a solid adaptation!

Jabber's voice actors really brought him to life in both dub and sub. It's hard not to like him. He was great last episode, but this episode, he was literally insane. Making these noises without sounding awful takes skills.

The fight this episode was fun. The animation went hard, and it's clear that Bone's A-team is working on this. I'm surprised by how well they communicated the intensity of the manga; it's obviously not perfect, but they definitely did their best without a MAPPA-level budget.

@maxellsibswe Oh, don't worry about me, usually I don't have any issues dropping a series. But in case of Gachiakuta it's that weird mix of interesting and promising art with incredibly disappointing story. I wanted to appreciate it, I wanted to enjoy it, but the author seems hell-bent on writing another Fairy Tail. At this point I'm just curious if they're going to address anything from the past two terribly mediocre episodes or Rudo is simply going to be sent on another mission to keep the grind going. Episode 8 will probably be my last.
