| If you're talking about fake votes, the anti-bots & vote brigading system should already take into account abnormal amounts of 1/10 and 10/10. Nothing is perfect, but I know it works because it saved Chihayafuru 3 from being downvoted by Vinland Saga fanboys. If you're talking about real users giving out too many 1/10 and 10/10, the best solution would be allowing users to play with the data through custom queries. For example, "recalculate MAL scores after excluding votes given by users with a mean score below 3.00 or above 8.00". |

| Here's the thing, there are people out there who actually enjoy anime no matter how bad or worse they are; likewise for shows that are good but for them it's super duper great. So a 10/10 all around can be possible, just rare to see among millions of users on MAL. Same with the opposite, some users hated the show so much that they put 1/10 for all these anime. Anything is possible on planet Earth xD The older you get, the more kind of people you encounter in real life and online. |

| But you'd just end up with all the 1 scores and all the 10 scores becoming 2 and 9. Essentially it become an out of 8 system, with 4.5 being the replacement of 5. So no it wouldn't really change the system all that much, it just be an out of 8 score. So any of my 10/10 would become 8/8. |

OP is assumingly talking about erasing 10s and 1s from score calculation, not from score selection, because that would be nonsensical. |
