Now, if you're not familiar with what an irregular time signature is – well, it's basically something that's not 4/4, 2/4, 3/4, 6/8, 12/8. So, if you listen to the song and can't really count "One, two, three, four" or "One, two, three, one, two, three" along with the beat and think to yourself "How the fuck do I headbang to this?" – that's an irregular time signature. Pretty common in Progressive Rock, Progressive Metal etc but super rare in mainstream music.

So far, I've only encountered two, number one being (it's from Ascendance of Bookworm:

This one is in 5/8 for the most part. Just try counting "One, two, three, four, five" and it'll align with the beat.

The rest are OST from Death Note. Yeah, more than 2 songs, but I meant 2 animes, so:

Where L's theme is particularly fucky, because it starts off in 4/4 with a shifted measure in the first half. Then it goes into a series of time signature changes, mainly revolving around 7/8.

All those ended up being, although not the best songs, but pretty fucking memorable, thanks to those quirks.

Do you know any more?
(once again, waltz-like rhythms don't count – they're pretty orthodox)
