Surprised, but also not surprised to see no one talking about the ending of this series. Translations were inconsistently released and seem to have come out a while after the last chapter was released in Japan. Along with this the author taking some time between Part I and II and releasing chapters kind of irregularly probably didn't help.

I only happened to notice the series was both complete and fully translated recently, and then I decided to spend my weekend reading as a lead up for Halloween. Happy to say I'm finally finished Real Account! It's wild that I started reading it 10 years ago, along with the other manga that were highlighted in the cross-over one-shot (Kamisama no Iutoori, Fuuka, and Area no Kishi). All that said, the story will always be popular in my heart even if it didn't keep up with the hype people had for it and the other series at the time.

I don't wish to be too negative as I did enjoy my fair share of the story, but there were a few things like some of the final arcs falling flat, plotholes, and tropes like the evil-dad final boss and the animal being the villain all along, that just didn't work for me... but for every low RA consistently brought me back-in with an engaging twist. I also wish they gave the chapters one more chapter of screen time because it clearly was not enough - we don't even get to see Ataru's life from his perspective or Ayame's (two central characters).

Alls said and done, I still enjoyed those moments through my eye-roll. Also, did anyone else feel like the ending also doesn't really say anything substantial about the stance the characters take on the usage of the ever-growing and changing internet space? To say only to "keep living" despite those negatives, is a great message, but it feels a little too forced or tacked on for my taste as that wasn't what the characters wanted to do at the end of the story. I'm still very happy with the story they told and quite impressed with the overall content - I'm going to miss this period of horror/survival manga a lot. Cheers & see everyone at Real Account III :D

@TheBlackCrow So I stopped reading around chapter 55 after the protagonist became an unlikable psycho. Did it ever get better from there?

@Frosty Sorry for the late reply! I would say it get's a little worst after that point and then stays consistently better for the rest of the series. There are a lot of twists and turns, some really great moments, other mostly good, and a few bad. I had originally stopped reading at the end of Real Account I after the protagonist change,, and then again after the personality change for a similar reason. Honestly, it was a pretty good time, and the MC eventually gets the "rough exterior with a heart of gold" treatment which makes him a little more likeable but the psycho persona does stick around for him which may be a tough sell for you. I think it's worth picking up again, but the story does drag a bit in the final third so keep that in mind :)
