We will definitely get answers to aging in the Bleach manga sequel aka Hell arc. |
| ^^ (Can't quote properly on the phone) Why would we need big changes or additions during the strongest and most well received section of the arc? Pretty much everyone who has read the manga expects most changes to occur during the second, much weaker half. Anyway, back on topic. Yamamoto was already a mature adult when the Gotei was founded. Unohana's age is more ambiguous, but she certainly looks a bit more mature compared to her 1000 year ago appearance. Also, could be partly explained by her being so good at self healing. Regarding the 0 squad. |

| There aren't any official reason why, I can only think of that Yamamoto was just the oldest of them all, he prob already like 1000yo when he formed Gotei with Unohana and other 1st gen captains. |

| The meta answer is that Kubo never planned ahead of time and ageing simply isn't something he finds important. I mean, aren't the Sternritter supposed to be 1000+ years old too? But in-universe, maybe Squad Zero looking younger than Yamamoto has to do with the Ouken as someone else said. |
