Does Asuka and Shinji end up together in EoE

In thrice upon a time, Shinji creates new world together with Mari. In this new world without Eva, we can see Kaworu and Ayanami, and there is Asuka in that same scene, it's easy to miss this part. Conclusion in this world Shinji end up living together with Mari and there is Asuka, but it's not asuka from previous world. Asuka from previous world is living with someone she loves, Kensuke in her own World.

@hulazhar I know im hella late to this discussion but your whole comment screamed of rage bait and kinda made me chuckle. i can refute all three points you made here. First, shinji and mari dont 'live' in that world, neither is the asuka and rei or kawarou at the railway station real. If you paid extra close attention, you would know the railway station sequence with a grown up shinji and mari is still within the anti universe. She's literally is just there to drag him back to the real world or "previous world" as you called it where evas no longer exist. Second, the sound director said specifically that the ending mari scene wasnt designed to be romantic. that doesnt mean that romanctic relationship couldnt be possible between them later, its still possible. and third and lastly, literally everyone in the official staff and directors and voice actors have stated that kensuke and asuka are a father daughter relationship. Shinji is dragged by mari out of the anti universe and bring him back to where asuka and kensuke are. everything, even the ships, are left ambigous. one ship isnt though and thats asuka x kensuke is most definitley not a thing in any situation lol. even mari x shinji is extremely debatable after what the sound director said.

@Junichi_Hashiba @Mikeyman444 Im new to the discussion, i know its a long time. But, well, didnt knew that about the director. Good to know, like EoE, everything is left for "us" to imagine.
Just like i did with EOE, which everyone can return, in "mine" canon, they do (and it makes sense).

But, i will say it this way, Mari as a character and the central role she is given. I just dont like it, she had like 3/4 interactions with Shinji? Steals Asuka and Rei that were co stars on the original spot in a franchise, in which the time the movie came out was more then 15 years old. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. Even the Asuka and Kensuke situation, came out of nowhere. The entire point of the originals was Asuka and Shinji grow and deal with their traumas together, in which in the end of EOE, finally Asuka recognizes Shinji.

@Viriathus the asuka kensuke thing is literally just a father daughter dynamic. I agree it came out of nowhere but it is well established what it's supposed to be, from both anno, and the voice actors and the scene direction. But yeah, eoe is just a much better film for Eva. But rebuilds aren't the worst thing in the world if you understand the ending, it just feels very linear and "shounen", which is different from how Eva felt
