The new OVA came out

Does this give and positive signs of as season 3 adapting more volumes.

If so which volumes will the new anime season cover?

Why are everybody so convinced about s3 beeing a thing? I know about the new characters and all the stuff departures set up, but it wouldnt be the first time a studio/publiaher was totaly retarded and choose to not give sequel season to an already popular show (remember spice and wolf?)
Dont get me wrong i still pray before i go to bed every night that a season 3 will come, but i just dont want to sit here in 2030 bawling because i got my hopes up (again).
Well lets pray some more and hopefully we will get it in 2018/2019!

I just checked out the last few volumes of the LN just for a heads up for the future of the story (and catching a glimpse of the story illustrations) and holy hell, they weren't kidding about preparing the adaptation of a possible season 3. Basically hentai and the recently released volume 12? Oh boy

I'll be impressed if they can adapt volumes 9-12 without any major setbacks. I don't think any of us want the issue we had with season 2/Burst

The LN has only been transalted till vol.8 so u have to wait 2-3 years or even more for full series transaltion.. U can read it here

S3 is entirely dependent on the production committee and whether they went to make another OVA or S3. The production committee for Shinmai can find a different animation studio, and bring back the key people that worked on S1,S2, and Departures, since they were subcontracted by IMS anyways. Volume 13 of the LN's comes out spring 2019, so there's still hope for an S3.
