| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Volume 1: Prologue, This chapter count on MAL includes the two prologues in the 10 volumes, so I'll give the first prologue as chapter 1. This was a fascinating history of humanity in outer space. I wish there was a map for reference, but this prologue provided a very solid foundation for a sweeping epic. There were novels worth of stories that was covered in just a few pages. It's clear that the author, Yoshiki Tanaka, has a love of history, and captured that in the prologue. |
| @Phaetons_Folly Why couldn't you have made the prologue as "chapter 0", then have chapter one actually be chapter 1? |

| Volume 1 Dawn Chapter 1 In Eternal Night Adapted into Overture to a New War and episode 1 of the OVA. Staten being so by the book really comes across in both versions. Reinhard's great at putting on a face; mentioning His Imperial Highness sent a chill down their spines. Wen-li's flashback was adapted in Gaiden 2, Reinhard's flashback was adapted in Golden Wings, Gaiden 1 and some parts of the main OVA. Yang's dad valuing the (fake) antiques more than his family "Then his hands went back to their polishing." Though his words on money did make an impact on Yang (through using an analogy of military supplies) |
