This felt more like Winx Club than Precure, since it seems that many people compare to it. The items might look similar but then again many magical girl items look similar.

Interesting though that the leader is the oldest and her color theme is yellow. And glad her personality is not annoying and instead she has the 'big sister' role.

How come this is even qualified as anime on MAL when it's not from Japan?

Section I: Anime Additions

1. The following entries are allowed in the anime database:

Professionally produced, animated works created:
in Japan for the Japanese market;
in Korea/China for the Korean/Chinese market;
as a joint production between Japan/Korea/China and another country.

Chinese and Korean animated stuff count as anime too.
You all need to watch Nami.

I found this rather interesting! I've been waiting to watch Balala The Fairies for a while, but I could never find it subbed. I agree that it's more like Winx Club than Pretty Cure - it had a very Western feel to the scenery.

Though, I do wonder why the subtitles opted to give the characters English names. I don't know, it just seemed a bit odd for subtitles to use Americanized names.

Also, I hope that someday someone will sub the live-action series. Mainly because the live-action series came first, so explained the origins of the characters. I watched the first few episodes of it on YouTube a few years ago, but it was raw, so I couldn't understand what was going on at all. XD

In the official channel there are english subs so you probably just forgot to turn them on

Really? I saw that they had a subtitle option for the animated version, but not the live-action one... I'm looking now and it doesn't seem to be there for me.

Yeah, I hope the official channel puts up subs at some point! Or maybe a fansubber. I remember watching the first few live action episodes raw, and it seemed to show how Sally (Shirley?) met Maggie and Michelle. Thankfully, though, season 1 of the animated series isn't too hard to follow without knowing what happened there, so that's good. :)
