10. No porn. Search the web for information you would openly share with me. If you have a question about anything, ask a person – preferably me or your father.

NOPE!

Deal breaker right there!

Seriously though, TBH, I kinda like the idea, but it's too damn strict on certain points....for fucks sake, your "child" is NOT a child anymore!

Furthermore, if this parent really wants to develop a trusting relationship, she should apply that on here.

No need to do a fucking contract that will inevitably be broken with so many stupid rules.

Also....fuck off about the porn thing, what's the big fucking deal?

Everyone is curious at that age, it's not the end of the world if your SON sees porn!

I don't get why people are so hung over that one rule. Why would you want to look at porn on your phone anyway? The screen's way too small. He's got to have a computer, right?

Now if that same rule was placed for the computer as well, then THAT'S when I'll get angry. But with the impression that gave of her, I'm assuming that he either doesn't have a pc, or the pc has the same rule.

If that's the case, then I feel sorry for him. lol.

And if that kid has a computer (I mean a computer for himself and not shared) what makes you think his mom isn't just as strict?

Honestly, I would hate having parents like this, being loving and protective is one thing.....being excessive and overbearing is another.

Also, when you give a gift....it's supposed to be unconditional, I get the fact that she's paying the monthly bill, but that's still supposed to be part of the "gift".

It seems like she's giving him the phone to constantly monitor him.

I'm just saying no porn on the phone is hardly an inconvenience. But if it applies to the pc as well, then that'll be a reason to chuck a fit.

He can always just delete his history haha.

It is amazingly popular where I live. Many kids gather round in back alleys and watch porn on mobiles. Here, it seems to be the in thing to do for some reason. I cannot say I don't understand: when I was a kid, the local daredevil would steal porn magazines from nearby kiosks and we would all get together and stare at the naked women. The naked women were actually only a small bit of the fun.

This is bad parenting AKA NO, I disagree with this contract.

The rules should NOT be written but only told, if he listens okay, if he does not, you remind him why he should listen.

Some of these rules are also bullshit. She's basically telling him not to use 3/4 of the phones capabilities, why didn't she get him a Nokia 1100 then? Not only that, it also shows how how much trust she puts in her child, which for me gives her a 0/10 for parenting, buying him an iPhone is already bad as anything from Apple is overpriced and can be found anywhere else with less money, same or more capabilities.

If the said kid is as smart as his mother says, shouldn't some of these rules be obvious for him - like the rule about not taking and sending the photos of his penis?

May be it's age difference, most of the response I read on another site support this contract or similar terms...

Here's another news about Teens vs parents on Internet:
Teens drugged parents to use Internet past curfew, police say

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2013/01/teens-drugged-parents-to-use-internet-past-curfew-police-say.html

Two teenage girls were arrested in Northern California this week after they used sleeping pill-laced milkshakes to drug one girl's parents because they wouldn't let her use the Internet past 10 p.m., police said.

At some point of their life they will buy it anyway. Also it isnt the iphone's etc fault that some people are retarded.
If your kids are normal why not buy it for them. And if you see that shit happening just take it back and smash it.Plain and simple.

>If your kids are normal why not buy it for them.

I pray to god they won't be normal. Having normal kids would be horrible.

>And if you see that shit happening just take it back and smash it.

1. I don't care what he/she would do with a smartphone, do anything they want with it. My hypothetical kids will have their own computers the second they want to start using them, and I'll allow them to do anything they want with them. My problem is in buying them a smartphone, not what they would do with it, or rather what they wouldn't.

2. I would never smash something that expensive. Why on Earth would you smash the phone?

Ok not normal. Not retarded ones maybe?

I dont get why a pc is ok but a phone is not...

Solution a:Beat your kids
solution b:Smash the phone
solution c:a+b

Pick one.

Never worked for me, the moment they'd hit me I'd do worse.

So basically... I'd never do that to my kids, and my parents rarely hit me, and I never learned from that. Thus, I believe education and having REAL authority is enough.

Kids revolt even without reason.

Here either her son is not to be trusted at all(which brings the question of why buy it at all)or she is a real bitch.

Did you ever get a taste of a belt? I have yet to hear about someone that didn't get straightened out with a good leather lashing. If you did and still were acting up, someone wasn't doing it the right way.

There's not a problem though so why am I looking for a solution? I don't have a problem with buying them a cell phone, just any kind of smart phone.

Why would I beat my kids or smash a phone anyway? Like I said, if they bought one themselves, or magically got one for free, they could do whatever they wanted with it, no matter how old they were. Like I said I don't care.

Don't forget that people also have a heart... They won't hit you to fuck you up.

My mother would take the belt, it was funny because that didn't work. My parents are divorced.

I want to say that stuff like "go to your room" or " you arent allowed to go out for the next 2 weekends" isnt something that will fix the problem.

The few times that my parents hit me, I did learn to shut up or never do whatever I did back then again.

As I see it now they didnt hit me enough(or at all) about certain things.

I'm actually pleased that I kept my ground, hitting your children is fucked up. It's not education. Education by force is what fucks up people.

And no, that's not the "real" authority I'm talking about. If you really have authority your kid will listen to you nonetheless, I remember my uncle that never hit me OR ever talked to me badly, if he said "No", it was a no, and he wasn't scary at all.

If the parent can only hit then sure, it is a problem. But sometimes kids can be real little assholes.I know I was one.

And I see it as education if they make you understand why you were hit, where you were wrong and how to fix it.It's not about them being scary.Seeing them angry because they hit me is something that had a lot of impact on me.

So are you one of those people that lumps in spanking with hitting?

I was like you in terms of not caring if I was going to get whooped or whatever, until my mother took her marvelous belt to the back of my legs a couple times when I was 12. That was unpleasant. I wouldn't have gotten anything and would be one of those fucked up teens running around like they have no sense.

That's just it, kids "learn" in different ways. My ed was do something you aren't supposed to do, and I will straighten you out, no problem. Time outs and stern reminders stopped working for me real quickly. I guess that it just depends on how you were raised and by who.

As I parent, of a teenager, soon to be older than a teen, well, you get the kids you raise.

Remember that.

You kid is YOU, you raised that kid, you programmed that kid, that kid is YOUR creation.

Remember that.

Especially remember that when the kid disappoints you. That is what it feels like to get a failing mark in parenting class.
