I thought this was a really cool episode! I honestly believed that Dante was going to kill everyone, but from the beginning I thought that there was something odd with that mans wife. Good episode!
Aishiteruze said: I liked it. It was crazy, with how everything came together..
I agree. This was actually my favorite episode, thus far. I came close to dropping the series in the beginning, but these last couple episodes made me glad that I didn't. ^_^
it seems everyone wants this series to be more action-packed...
after actually playing the games, this series is really fine the way it is.
--if you disagree, play the goddamn games! DERUPU!!
I got to say that I am really enjoying this series, I only played some of one of the older games and know very little about the DMC lore however this anime is still fucking awesome. I loved this episode and how it all came together, very well done and im glad dante is one of those that just get the job done even if it means letting a few other people die lol
Gambling destroys people.. But also you can't really ban it entirely or anything anyway.. It'll just go illegally.. That is if we keep gambling as more bad thing than good one.. As to some people - they can play in lines and it can be just hobby for them.. But I don't really have strong opinion myself.. Just that all these things coexist, and in the end it's not for me to decide things like that anyway..
This episode reminds me of that gambling episode in Kaze no Yojimbo and that one was pretty good too.
The reviews complain about Dante being OP and the action sucking, which is true, but 1) Dante should be OP 2) the action sucking could've been replaced by the story. There's this pattern of demons preying on people's vices, whether it be the motorcycle guy, the singer, or these gamblers. I think with better writing they could've easily lent more depth to the series if they followed this pattern more and developed the themes better. Perhaps two-act arcs would've been better for developing the themes and the side characters they involved.
As for my personal opinion on gambling... I'd stay the hell away from it. Hell, I wouldn't even gamble with fake money because I can't be motivated by gain so there's no fun in it. Fun to watch though.
