| Punpun's an extremely effective case study of how stewing in your insecurities and not making an effort to move forward in life can fuck you up royally. He had something really special going with Sachi and, as rocky as the road was, things were changing for the better for him. Only he couldn't see it because of how stuck in his own head he was. It's becoming harder and harder to feel particularly sorry for him since he's the only one getting in his own way with his constant self-sabotaging and defeatist attitude. He's been through a lot, and I sympathize with that, but at this point he's only becoming more pathetic in his refusal to take charge of his life while refusing any and all attempts by others to help him. And nothing good can come of him running into Aiko again. Such a great story, a masterpiece even, but I'm honestly growing to dislike Punpun and his borderline incel-esque worldview. |
