An era came to an end old legends are retiring.

The sound design for One Piece is infamous so people are happy to see him go, but the man created some iconic sound effects for series like this and Dragon Ball, lol.

One of the two nit picks I had with one piece is the sound effects. Especially every giant characters foot step sounding like a robot. Not all of them of course, this guy absolutely cooked with a lot of sound effects. I hope whoever filling this spot can bring life to the world around the characters of one piece.

they're time has come to be replaced with more "modern" sounds due to them being used for so long for 25 years

@Mr_Sai

As much as I love the improved production quality in recent years, it's equally sad to see things which gave One Piece it's character slowly fade out. But they will definitely keep using the older sound effects same as the OST.

He didn't create them for this series. He's been recycling the same shit he made in the 1980's for DECADES!

In so many different TOEI anime!

Good riddance.

@phantom346

There were in fact many new sound effects made for One Piece, in particular for Luffy's Gears.

"New"

"Luffy's gears"

Gear 2nd debuted in 2006 along with Gear 3rd, Gear 4th debuted in 2016 and Gear 5th in 2023.

They might not be ancient but they aren't exactly "new".

Context matters. New upon their debut, as in that they haven't been used in another series before and were created for One Piece.
