Dragon Ball Super: Beerus TV Anime Trailer https://youtu.be/OOmRInABehI?si=O2E6qDh3AzV1WAfs
Coming: Fall 2026

Fun fact: this was called Dragon Ball Super Kai internally. You'll find BoG is now 6 episodes long.

The Golden Freeza arc will follow with the same length later.

It's a remaster, not a full remake. A more ambitious version of Fishman Island Remastered, really.

Tadayoshi Yamamuro is still in charge, but you'll find the likes of Yuya Takahashi, Ryo Onishi, and Takeo Ide involved. The new scenes are very nice - the OG Ep 5 was redone.

It will also include light manga elements such as Goku's image training in chapter 1.

Iyoku discusses that it was his and Toriyama's decision to produce a more version more faithful to Toriyama's original draft as there were too many changes done by the anime team.

"This ENHANCED edition reconstructs the story"

Akira Toriyama was involved in this.

Here's virtually every change between the original Dragon Ball Super (2015) and the remastered Dragon Ball Super: Beerus (2026) found in the reveal trailer.

It's a mix of recomps, redraws, and entirely new cuts.

I do not think this needs a remake at all. Kind of a strange choice imo.

@rohan121 Yeah, I think the same. This movie is good as it is, especially when one takes into account the extended version. There's even a TV version of this arc that we could see in the DBS anime. Strange choice, but I will definitely watch it, haha. Even though this particular story arc is not among my favorite ones. Plus, well, the trailer looks gorgeous.

So it’ll go like this, we’ll start super again in fall 2026, then have three seasons throughout 2027, and we’ll prolly add the continuation of the Moro arc in fall 2027.

I think it's a good choice because whilst I prefer the movie version of BoG, I enjoyed some of the story and character elements added in the anime adaptation - however the production values (specifically the art and animation) got really bad at some points. Hopefully this remaster will give us the best of both - whilst sticking more to Toriyama's original work for a definitive edition of BoG.

i think they are remaking this movie and the rest of the super to somehow fit dragon ball daima into the canon sotryline. We might see SSJ4 goku vs beerus on king kais planet, and SSJ3 Vegeta vs beerus.

I can understand why Toei decided on this. It's an easy way to fill the gap before Moro is animated, so we won't have a big drought before 2027. Also I can see the reasoning to do it for new viewers. The Super TV anime has some rough patches (especially the beginning) and the manga skips and rushes through certain things. There's currently no "definitive" version of the Super story, you'll have to jump around between movies, TV anime, and manga to get the best experience, and it's a good idea to have a way to get everything consistent before they start doing new material.

I don't think that's the intention with this, but I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure they want to keep Daima as its own separate thing as a celebration for the 40th anniversary. They've even referred to Daima as its own timeline in Xenoverse and there was clearly a lot if communication between Toei and Bandai for that project.

Sounds perfect for the newcomers, but I’ll watch it since I love watching differences with different anime!!
