| @Old_School_Akira I don't hate makoto shinkai but i do hate ghibli with a passion because i think that Hayao Miyazaki is a pretentious high brow prick who jacks off to his own mighty horse of an ego and high arrogance and haughtiness. I support everything he hates and i hate everything he loves. Don't get me wrong he is an incredibly talented animator a genius even and his works are highly rated anime masterpieces and deservedly so. I've watched all his films from Nausica to the Boy & Heron and they're all quite good by cinematic anime standards. My burning hate for the person is in no way, shape or form a detriment to the quality of his films or my opinion on them, i hate his personality, his politics and his insufferable arrogance but his work is fine in my book. |

| Franchises usually peak very quickly and then have a long decline. Pokemania peaked in 1999 and then declined. WoW peaked in 2009 and then declined. Minecraft peaked in 2013 and then declined. Game of Thrones peaked in 2014 and then declined. Overwatch peaked in 2016 and then declined. Fortnite peaked in 2018 and then declined. Genshin peaked in 2021 and then declined. Now there are some exceptions like Harry Potter not peaking until the final book in 2007, ten years after the first book, but those are the exceptions, not the rule. The first Demon Slayer movie came out four years ago. That was almost certainly the peak of that franchise. |

| I think it will most likely beat the Mugen Train movie, but Ne Zha 2 is totally out of reach, lol. I'd rather wonder whether it will be the highest grossing non-English AND non-Mandarin movie. If it grosses more than Mugen Train did, the only movie left fitting the aforementioned criteria (non-English, non-Mandarin) would be The Passion of the Christ. I feel it's as high as the first movie of the Mugenjou-hen movie trilogy can go. Either getting lose to The Passion, or grossing slightly more than it, but that's all. Either way, it already achieved powerfully good result. |
