So apparently this will be a sequel movie, which I'm surprised of. As of now there are 9 chapters out that haven't been adapted, the Bondrewd movie adapted 12 chapters in comparison.. what are they gonna do with it? Imo those 9 chapters don't even warrant a full on movie since barely anything happens in them

Idk but I'm still hyped for it. Didn't think we'd get more MIA stuff so soon. There really isn't much to cover though. I wonder if that means there will be a lot of anime original stuff? Would be cool to see

I imagine a lot of anime-only material.

We have 5 additional side story chapters that the anime never adapted, on top of the 10 (and 2-3 more with the release of volume 14). Should be plenty to work with

There’s enough content. Compared to bondrewd’s chapters, these ones are much longer and don’t even got action in it, aside from very few moments.
I don’t believe the content is movie worthy, but I can comprehend why they are going for anime movies instead of waiting for a whole TV series. The manga’s release schedule is way too slow

Well, there's a lot of interresting things

It's true that plot-wise it won't be as touching as Dawn of the Deep souls, but there are still enough interesting events to make a good mystery adventure film, in my eyes at least.

There are 11 chapters not counting side-story ones. And they already announced it as a seriers of moviers. So they'll probably go like 6 chaprters per shorter movie to keep up with the manga pace.

There are 11 non-adapted chupters and depending on when the movie comes out there will be more, the number of pages per chapter increased after the anime, the non-adapted material has 427 pages and Dawn of the deep soul movie adapted 275 pages and had more action, I would be more worried if everything will fit than if there will be enough, I doubt there will be any anime-only material unless Tsukushi insists, there are enough side stories that have to do with the plot/lore but are not adapted so I'm sure if they lack materials they will use them.

The only NEW chapter in volume 14 is chapter 71, so with volume 14 we have 11 chapters (427 pages), compared to the last movie whose 12 chapters were 275 pages.

Is no one talking about how this is going to be a "series"?

If ppl are already worried about chapters to adapt for this one, whats going to be adapted for future parts?

"ppl" are worried for no reason since there is too much material for one movie (which may be why they are making a series of them). The fact that there will be a series of films means that at least the next two or more sequels will be films, not that there won't be seasons anymore (but maybe not, taking into account the pace at which the manga is published, they may consider films more economical). Nothing is certain, with the information we currently have. If you're worried that the anime will continue without the manga, you're wasting your time, because unless Tsukushi dies, there's not even the slightest chance of that happening, whoever told you that is a complete ignoramus.

I never said anything in the slightest. I also never said anything about there being no more seasons. Thus no need to add words i never said.

So please actually read what i said/say.

Im just wondering what might be adapted after this first movie if ppl keep saying theres barely enough material for one movie.

I apologize.

As I said in another comment and argued by the number of pages, there is more than enough for a film as long as Dawn of the deep soul, the options are as follows: They will divide the material we currently have and the chapters that will eventually come out into 2/3 shorter films, or they consulted with Tsukushi and realized that the length of the next arc is suitable for the film, so they decided to publish it with the announcement for this movie, or both. I don't have enough information to theorize about the length of individual films and how much they will cover.

If the next arc after the Golden City is enough for one movie, then why would they say this is a "series" meaning more than one?

How does that part make sense?

my coping mechanism is to think tsukushi is dropping the pen and just continuing the series as an anime, otherwise there's no way this movie will hold up to previous entries

Considering this series is based off the manga, it seems like adaption is apart of the contract for making the series at this point.

Dont see how they could turn it into an original series this far into it.

In the comment you quoted by "next arc" I mean arc that doesn't exist yet, material that will be coming out next few years before the second movie.
As I said, there is MORE THAN ENOUGH material, so they can make, for example, two smaller movies that cover only existing chapters or Tsukushi told them how the chapters that haven't been made yet will turn out, so they decided they will make a second movie out of them and existing chapters that don't make it into the first movie.
Do you understand now?

There is not the slightest chance of that happening, the 9 chapters information you quoted is incorrect, read my comment with the correct page numbers.
I don't know if that's your opinion as someone who read the content after the 2nd season, as someone who read it I think that with good animation it can go well, especially if the 71st chapter (11th non-adapted chapter) or one after it has some kind of culmination. Do not forget that there is a possibility that the second or maybe the third film will contain material that does not yet exist.

I just heard the news and I'm very excited, the possibility of them making a movie again due to the lack of manga chapters to adapt didn't even cross my mind. lol
the staff is great and it's obvious that Kinema Citrus will reach its peak with this movie, I just hope that Kuroda Yuka are not completely monopolized by Made in Abyss I want him to direct two or three episodes of Shield Hero S4 before that.😭
