| Wow, this is a great, great improvement from the pilot. High school wild antics were perfectly portrayed with the context of the main characters, and some nice extra details came out with a closet otaku teacher that has a lot of potential, Morihito becoming object of PSX cheat codes like those days in which the player could have Spyro the dragon with a giant head, direct / indirect other anime references, and some supporting characters already show some good potential. Kara Minami for now is at the top of the list, immediately noticed how similar she looks to Hojo from Takagi-san series and honestly i would have loved to see her kick ass against those thugs, even if... putting up a tough act to be left alone with her group also worked. There was a third possible choice with Nico using magic against the same people and having Morihito disposing of them without the girls noticing was my least favorite choice... but it's just nitpick for a very satisfying episode. Plus, i laughed at the final song in which italian dub voice actress (already known for Takagi and remake girl Ranma) name-checked herself replacing the original one. It's also cool to listen again to Morihito's italian dub actor too, considering he was Tadano from Komi Can't Communicate and i have completely surrendered at this point that i will never see him reprise the same role. |

| Hahahaha >_< It was a great anime, I loved it. Everyone including the teacher was crazy, I especially loved the teacher. There were some really nice references. Also, I was glad that they admitted who they were, in most series they tried to hide it until they got tired of it, it made me sick, it was better this way. Hahahaha >_< Şahane bir animeymiş ya bayıldım. Öğretmen dahil hepsi kafadan kırıkmış zaten öğretmene ayrı bayıldım. Çok güzel göndermeler vardı. Ayrıca kim olduklarını itiraf etmelerine sevindim çoğu seride bıktırana kadar saklamaya çalışıyorlardı falan içime fenalık getiriyordu böylesi daha hoş olmuş. |
| really liked this episode... class 3 is funny, with the teacher's reactions, and everyone being super nonchalant about the magic and ogre thing the introductions were fun too ps: I would totally be in the "imitating DBZ characters" of the flying group ps2: is fruits basket a real kid's play? always though Fruits Basket's (the mangá/anime) author made that up, XD |

| All the anime and manga references brought up were great, especially because the teacher is an otaku herself. Kara is quite fun as well hope we get more of her involvement with the main cast. |
| Nico is such a goofball especially during class when she is making all of the anime references happen with her magic. Moi's arm becoming super big was hilarious. They have a great teacher who we can vibe with. |
| wow this is fun. was bored and saw this on netflix so thought of giving it a try and ended by liking it. i was actively avoiding this all these days even though it kept popping up on mal because i thought this would be another generic lame story but i was plesantly surprised that the comedy actually made me laugh. good stuff. the timing and use of reference is tasteful which makes it very funny. but i should have waited 2 more months before starting this. now i'll catch up in less than 2 days and then wait weekly :( |

| lol well... what can I say, this is the kind of stupid humor that I love in anime. That was a ridiculous intro to their school year, but it did have me laughing. I already basically knew what was going to happen after the hair thing, but it was still freaking funny. ...I'm actually glad it played out almost exactly like I was thinking it was about to... I probably would have been disappointed if it hadn't. That comment at the diner "that confidence smells dangerous" also got me chuckling a bit. At least, the interactions so far - predictable - but they're using the tropes to their advantage, I think it's pretty funny. The other girl is pretty funny too... she kinda nails it... lol followed by the gang of losers planning to rape them, evidently. Well, safe to say everyone watching to this point knows what's going to happen to those guys. ...ALSO, LOL, "can you ask her to turn me into a chair" .... oh my fucking god. What the fuck... that is all. "I can do anything" with that stupid expression right afterward is icing on the cake. "No way! Do not use magic for fun!" - lol yes, this is sorta what I wanted too. I am obviously typing this and pausing to make comments, because I'm a little surprised by this episode. Man, this crap is ridiculous but ... I don't dislike. Frankly, her classes' commentary is ...about what mine would be, internal and out loud. Who wouldn't? a loser. I'm no loser! The whole classes' personalities in something like 10-20 seconds. My personality would probably be easy to read in that scenario too, honestly. DBZ all the way. Maybe not without the power to fly - but give me that? no, I'm probably gonna smash you into the pavement. The teacher's reaction to this "development" is also lovely. I like her a lot. "...and here we are, doing Fruits Basket" - well, yeah. Pretty much. If my class had a classmate who could let us fly and stuff, or other things, we'd probably do the same. Except.... some of us would probably be beating the shit out of each other like we did. (I didn't start any of that. I may have antagonized a little - but I certainly didn't start it!) (I didn't get powers though. Pretty lame huh) This bastard seems to have come up with a great formula... is manga writer-san an alchemist? ...this classes' common sense is unparalleled. |

| @Steelers92 yeah I thought that shit was hilarious.... it's clearly aimed at us anime folk... as any anime probably should be... being an anime, and all. I expect much from this teacher. Thought it was hilarious... the whole episode really, even the most predictable parts. They did the expected pretty well here... I approach a lot of anime as a skeptic - I'm not that hard to win over, but this is doing a good job so far. I hope the rest of it fares so well. I'm sure my neighbor upstairs heard me crack up at least once or twice. @Darkzepheran Yes, I didn't either. I was approaching it with a somewhat jaded outlook but ... I do hope there are more episodes this entertaining. I don't know if I'd call it brilliant - but they seem to know what the anime viewer will expect... and they also seem to lean into it - which isn't really a bad thing. This made me laugh quite a lot, for some anime I never heard of even once. In a way, leaning into it given how so many "fans" just despise anything they've seen before (as if it's avoidable) IS kind of brilliant though. If they can do it without being boring. This episode wasn't boring at all. |

| Didn't even finish the first day at school and already the cat's out of the bag. But wait, Nico's mom already told the teacher she's a witch? And the students really aren't that shocked that witches exist? This really is like a Rumic anime. Also, the homeroom teacher being a closet otaku is funny. She's an older character so she probably still has biases thinking that liking manga and anime is uncool or something. Did Moi follow Nico and her friends? Bruh. I mean it was good that he protected them from those creeps. But there was nothing that indicated he was allowed to stalk Nico. Well, he is her bodyguard so maybe this goes without saying. This episode was pretty funny. The ED is decent. But not nearly as good as the OP. It's like they completely blew the budget on the OP lol. The animation in the OP is just next level. Like way better than the actual anime. I guess it was necessary since it uses a song from Yoasobi after all. Anyway, this anime's pretty fun and I'm liking it so far. |
