Bro with is that ending. I need a sequel, you give all this hype and don’t even show tournament arc bru. I hope this gets an ova or a movie to conclude the show, I doubt it will get season 2; im just hoping it concludes with a movie like how blackflip!! Did.

To help support for a sequel, please buy the blue ray when it comes out.

Ahh I need season 2! Takeda sensei did it again, another loveable cast of characters with a cute MC you want to see succeed. Had a lot of fun watching this and most importantly, learned a lot about the intricacies of broadcasting.

Whenever the series title is the title of a finale episode you just know it’s gonna be peak and this was no exception, best Hanashura episode by far. Loved how they handled the resolution to Mizuki’s family arc and solved it using the power of her recitation. Even her grandma out of touch ass had no choice but to feel all of Mizuki’s pain and frustration. That’s also easily the best looking performance of the season. BIND cooked. S/O to Koki for standing up for his little sister and rejecting the grandmother too. Knew he’d be a good guy!

“It’s thanks to you that my life is happy everyday. So I want you to be happy too.” “My days sparkle because of you. And when I don’t get to see you I feel sad. Because I like you” AHHHHH now i DARE someone to try and tell me they’re not lesbians lmao. I mean even Hibike didn’t get that blunt lol. Hana had come so far, no way the shy girl we met at the start would’ve had the courage to say that. It was Mizuki who saved her at the start and now she’s saved Mizuki

Ugh I hate that we leave off on a cliffhanger right before the competition, though! Idk if this has the sequel potential Hibike did, but I’ll for sure read it. Bind did a very good job of conveying the emotions of the characters through the readings and who doesn’t love a cute girl sports club anime.
@Marinate1016 Hibike literally had comparisons to a date and the phrase "is this a love confession?" Between two characters with male love interests, yes. So no, they are not lesbians and this is a standard melodramatic friendship moment in the shoujo style. Especially for such an author. Let alone labeling both of them at once.

@phantomfandom It's obviously a female-focused school drama, not CGDCT or yuri bait.

@Marinate1016 By answering in such a childish-trollish style you only expose yourself as an immature person who holds on to takes just because they want them to be that way. It won't change anything.

Bruh no one cares what you think you’re a random on an anime forum crying about my take on a cartoon relationship. The only one seeming immature is you, half the takes in these threads I don’t agree with but I’m not wasting time crying about them because I have a job. Try it sometime. Only opinion that matters is your own. I don’t need to seem “mature” to someone who doesn’t pay my bills or know me lmao tf.

@Marinate1016 If you were really mature, you wouldn't waste this time on such trash talk and attempts to prove to me how much you don't care about my or anyone else's opinion in general, without even realizing how ironic it looks from the outside. A mature person would either ignore it or write "agree to disagree". It's not that hard.

Re read this thread. YOU mentioned ME. I did not come at you about your opinion. This entire conversation started because you pinged ME because your immaturity doesn’t allow people to have other opinions. After I said “don’t care didn’t ask” that should’ve been the end of it, but you NEEDED to reply and try to convince me of the error of my ways because you can’t fathom someone not agreeing with you. Even now you continue replying because you’re upset. You are immature and will no longer be getting replies. I suggest seeking employment. People with jobs don’t cry over cartoon relationship opinions.

@Marinate1016 Should have ended when you ended it by bait-ish stating your opinion as fact and even continued to insist on this in the next answer? No, that's not how it works. The more you continue to artificially support life in this and waste time proving “no, you!”, the more you will only prove my words. Just because I was the one who started this dialogue doesn't yet forsed you make it so personal and so stubbornly justify yourself as if questioning your opinion is some kind of personal insult (I think people with jobs wouldn't be so passive-aggressive when someone questions their opinion on "cartoon relationships" either).

Overall I really liked the anime but the fact that they build up a tournament arc for 8 episodes only for it to not even start because there was a (cool) drama part before is almost criminal. XD
I like everything, ok

This show, at least for this season, really focused on things that wasn't what I came for. The recital/reading stuff was what hooked me in, but it was mostly a random 'special' occurrence than a focal point of the show. I already knew it was gonna be filled with friendship-building and such- as it should- but not at the expense of the recital feeling like a side stuff.
The final chapter also felt like it was just a last-minute drama-filler so they can hold things off for the next season, and the recital part in the end feels like an obligatory event.

Hard to not appreciate the very high-quality production values of the show, so most of my appreciation goes there.
Story-wise, they just gave me nothing to be interested about yet. I will likely still check out the next season but, definitely not gonna be in a rush to do so.

I am sorry, even it would be just me, couple of scenes was just masterful in my eyes. The first time we are hearing Hana on the seashore, the moment of inspiration to create piano melody and the last episode with recitation of "Upon the Tainted Sorrow" by Nakahara Chuuya. Chills.
For me, poem's+anime=bull's eye. None of the other series I watched this winter hit me like this.

Hana and Saionji's double recitation sequence was beautiful. But everything else was unsatisfactory.

I really didn't appreciate the Mizuki backstory. It was much too last minute, and the rich family plus confinement thing was too over-the-top and tropey. And just like that, it was resolved. Mizuki's heartfelt recitation in front of her grandmother was a great idea in theory but did not land with enough impact.

Not covering the competition itself was a huge letdown. What we got instead was nowhere near enough. They really should've done another episode.

I want to say I want another season, but I'd be lying. The core of the show, the recitation, never managed to grab me till the end; again, they should've added more contrast in the voice acting between the everyday scenes and the recitation scenes. And the characters and interactions weren't too interesting either, so I'm left with nothing to go on.

Pretty disappointing show.

The family drama detour kinda ruined it for me. I don't mind the story itself, but the timing messed up the flow, as a result we didn't even get to see the tournament. If they had at least one more episode, it would have been better. Maybe they didn't want to rush the competition and I respect that, but then we have to hope for season 2 now. Or if they knew their pace and what arcs they wanted to cover, why not give 24 episodes from the get-go? I honestly appreciate all the details we get and how we learn more about each character, but feels like all that built-up has gone to waste in the end.

Also, one thing doesn't make sense to me is grandmother getting disappointed that the second child was born a girl. Why though? She is a woman herself, and a powerful lady at that. But no, she just has to stick with old-fashioned believes for no reason. I guess, Mizuki was spared from having more strict expectations put upon her, but still, that just pissed me off somehow :/

I don't mind shipping material scattered all around in this anime for yuri fans out there. The subtle way it's done can be interpreted either way, and it's always good to see a solid foundation behind close friendship rather than a poorly done attempt to showcase a relationship.

Overall, it was a good and unique show. Some scenes during recitation were very beautiful, and it was cool to see the episode focused on producing tv drama as well, with a small dive into sound design. Hope to see continuation in the future.
